Plant Manager

A manufacturing manager with experience in establishing a lean and organized working environment by setting guidelines and standards. I have led production assembly line operations, metal fabrication and assembly, maintenance department, quality department, warehouse and logistics. In conjunction with customer service schedules and plans were set into place for fulfilling deadlines. Plant Manager May 2014 – 2016

Arbor Metals, LLC. Dallas, TX

The Plant Manager oversees warehouse, maintenance, production, and plant operations. The immediate responsibility was to recapture and turn around the day to day operations of each department and build measurement tools that would show the performance of each departments operation. It was also the responsibility of the Plant manager to communicate process improvements to the President. As part of management team I had financial responsibility of purchasing operational goods, labor, maintenance supplies, and warehouse supplies. Arbor Metals, LLC is a metals processer of precision metal products for stamping and metal forming. It services the automotive, electronics, transportation, and food processing industries.

Aligned production goals to meet customer demand by scheduling production to complete tasks on an hour basis rather than a day basis. The change in planning increased on time delivery to customers by 15% and also allowed us to deliver 99.1% on time for 2015 and track for 2016.

Assigned cross training teams with the task of coaching new operators on key machine operations. The exercise increased associates job knowledge, personal growth, and reduced downtime of operations.

Established a preventative maintenance program that helped with being proactive to repairs rather than reactive. Assignments were given to operators and maintenance technicians daily, weekly, and monthly. This minimized downtime during productivity and allowed us to schedule machine down time for repair.

Reduced monthly expenditures in shop supplies and general maintenance supplies by 30% through accountability practices. Placed checks and balances for purchases in the plant by assigning a coding system.

Adjusted personal to work load on monthly schedule by adding hours to current staff or adding temporary staff assistance to production floor.

Established a safety committee team that contributed to zero reportable injuries for 2016.

Contributed to an inventory reduction of 3Mil by working with sales, customer service, and production on materials that were not visible through the MRP system.

Plant Operations Manager March 2013 – May 2014

North American Radiator Nuevo Laredo, MX

The responsibility for the Plant Operation Manager is to lead, coordinate, evaluate, and setup stream line manufacturing lines at the Nuevo Laredo, Mexico maquiladora operations. The company builds complete industrial radiators for aftermarket distributors.

Accomplishments:

Realigned manufacturing process and procedures to collaborate with lean and 5’s concepts. Increased radiator core efficiencies by 20% with the re-organization.

Influenced a positive thinking work environment by allowing managers to run exercises on deficiencies and make plans for corrective actions. Team member’s involvement was elevated by 50% in participation.

Adopted an entrepreneur operating system to help the team establish core values, rocks, accountability, and 1-5-10 year plan for the plant. Projected 5 year plan was on track to growing the business by 10M.

Vice President of Operations February 2012 – February 2013

Tex Pac Hide & Skin LLC. Fort Worth, TX

The Vice-President of Operations oversaw four plants throughout the United States. The responsibilities appointed governing company policies and financial responsibilities through 4 plant managers and 100 associates. The company processing skins to recapture the fat and produces tallow oil for the oleo chemical industry. The skins after the curing process ship to international tanneries for leather processing.

Accomplishments:

Reduced downtime by actively pursuing a stringent maintenance program included a critical parts program for each major piece of equipment to the operation.

(Production Output - Machinery Downtime = Loss of Revenue).

Increased oil production output through evaluation of the steam heating process and water.

Cool-Line Innovations Irving, TX

Sales and Operations Manager oversaw the daily functions of a small plant located in Irving, Texas. The given responsibility included quotes, customer service, shop floor scheduling, purchasing of raw materials, health, safety, and maintenance. Machines used to perform tasks on the production floor included: KIA CNC Gang Bang Lathes, Mori Seiki MV Junior Mills, AMADA punch press machine, and TRUMPF punch press machine. As Plant Manager oversaw daily operations of 4 department managers, 4 floor supervisors, and 65 associates, were generating positive team concepts on two shifts under 75, 000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and 50K sq. ft. of warehouse and distribution. The annual gross sale from the industrial plant generated 18.5 million in revenue to the organization. Selected accomplishments increased profitability and production.

Accomplishments:

Restructured inventory levels by implementing Kaizan, J.I.T., and lean concepts allowing a cost reduction of 40K per month on raw materials.

Increased employee retention by 3 years a result of positive communication, consistent work ethics, and enabled employee contributions with Kaizan.
