• Born to a Colonel who served as a surgical specialist in the Army Medical Corps, I was always interested in the medical profession. I hail from a family of doctors.

• I am a practicing Gynecologist and have about 43 yrs of experience.

• Worked as Director Medical Services in OJUS Any Time Medicare Services Pvt Ltd, for 7 yrs, which involved Administrative Skills, People Management and Clinical knowledge to run the OPD. We were the only Medical Facility catering to about 800 Companies (Corporate Setup) inside ITPL.

• I worked as Faculty in 2 Medical Transcription Units as Language of Medicine Trainer from 1999 to 2010.

• I am associated with Dementia Care Center, run by Nightingales Home Health Services where I spend my weekends with Alzheimer’s patients. I also handle classes for the nursing staff, practical bedside training and other aspects of nursing from 2009 to present.

• Worked in Arogya Rakhsa Yojana, a clinic run by Biocon, with a pharmacy and a lab. Biocon is into a lot of health oriented programs from 2007 to 2009.

• I was teaching in 2 nursing colleges (Anatomy & Physiology) for more than 2 yrs. I was also tutor in community medicine as St. John’s Medical College. Teaching has always been my passion.

• Worked with the Air Force, family wing Jalahalli west for 5 years as Lady Medical Officer. Most of the work was outpatient and dispensing medicines. Health awareness programs, Immunization, under five clinics, well baby clinics, well woman clinics etc from 1983 to 1986.

• I have worked in various capacities in both state and central government organizations.

• Worked in various primary health care centers in Udupi, Sullia and Mercara etc, as Assistant Surgeon. I was responsible for all outpatients / inpatients and family planning work. I was accountable for day to day administration and duty roaster of nurses.

• Worked as Assistant Research Officer at National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad on an Indo-US project where I had 30 social workers / Nursing aid with batches and had to collect pre measles, measles & post measles blood samples and work on Vitamin A deficiency.

• I was in charge medical officer at St. Theresa’s Maternity Hospital for 24 years where I was responsible for all out-patient / in-patient / OT etc. This is a 75-year- old Maternity Hospital where the stress was mainly on conducting normal deliveries. Out of the 60-70 deliveries per month we used to have some 6 – 8 cases going in for a C-Section.

• I have worked for the Urban slums and Coordinated many programs with many NGO’s Local self help groups etc.
