EXPERIENCE

School Board Member – Dist. 281 Elected November 2007 – Present (third term) Responsible for the oversight and direction of Robbinsdale Area Schools, a district of 12,000+ students with an operating budget of over $162 million..

Served as board chair for three years – lead the hiring of current superintendent.

Served as treasurer – providing direction for newly formed Finance Advisory Council comprised of community business leaders.

Involved in strategic planning for our district. Presently involved in updating our Unified District Vision.

As chair, oversaw the merger of our two high school hockey programs and community outreach throughout the process.

Undertaken leadership training on equity in our schools and community.

Served on numerous district committees.

Owner – Daycare Provider Sep 1989 – June 2017

Managed all aspects of my business. Budgeting, purchasing, long-term planning, and continuous improvement in what I offer to my families. I have provided service to over 40 families and more than 75 children.

President – League of Women Voters October 2001 - Present Served as President of the LWV - Crystal/New Hope/East Plymouth for 7 years, setting and implementing our agenda and providing leadership.

Oversaw community education opportunities through forums and monthly meeting that explored current event topics (judicial selection process, immigration in Minnesota, redistricting etc.).

Under my leadership our league was recognized for our service by League of Women Voters – Minnesota numerous years, and was awarded a national Spirit of Democracy grant.
