PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

VEHICLE SERVICE CONTRACTS AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS

VSC – Vehicle Service Contracts

Vehicle Service Contract system is used to sell service contracts on Nissan/Infiniti/ Non- Nissan/ Non-Infiniti VIN. VSC is very critical system because it’s the third most profit earning system to Nissan business. It process different activity on the contracts likes sales/cancellations/transfer and also process claims for Non-Nissan/Non- Infiniti Vin. Thus it has a built in Claims processing system and Contracts Sales system.

It has highly complex financial accounting and earning process involved in the system. Thus live to date amount earned and unearned out of each contract is maintained and reported in different finance entries.

It does have different month-end reports to report the NESNA, NNA and NESCI Company business activities. VSC system is also built in sophisticated manner to create the reports for auditing and state compliance purpose.

The Project involves Production Support and Development of the new products that were developed on IBM mainframes with various databases. The interferences to other systems were developed using a UNIX server to transfer data and Micro strategy is used for reporting purpose.

CA – Consumer Affairs

Consumer Affairs system handles all the customer requests and tracks the requests. Customer requests are received by phone calls, survey comments, and by other means. Each and every request will be given a document number to track the request until it’s closed and the same document details are used to report the TREAD to NHTSA. As some of the request can hold legal information turnaround of request needs to be rapid thus high production support is needed (24/7) for the fix.

CA system also acts as the master repository to hold customer and owner relation information for Nissan business. It also tracks on the information of buyback of vehicles based on several business reasons.

Project involves Production Support and Development of new products. On a technical front, CA system is massive system with many interfaces to all other system in Nissan.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: PARTS SYSTEM

MPS-LCC

This project is limited to the enhancement three business applications in NNA namely Pricing, Logistics & Sourcing. The NML Mandated global service parts sourcing system MPS-LCC data tool need to be interfaced with the above mentioned businesses. The objective is that this tool will allow sourcing countries to define part pricing and ordering information to sales countries, and create an infrastructure for shipping logistics. The changes made to Pricing; Logistics & Sourcing will include the modification of data layouts and processes that incorporate the new data.

Electrical Vehicle for Parts & Service

This project will make the necessary system changes to support restricting the ability to order parts and accessories that are unique to EV to dealerships that have been certified to seel and service the Leaf.

Design will include restrictions for EV. Can be used for any Nissan Model line.

Infiniti DDTR

Infiniti DDTR is a Process to track the performance of the dealer system, The main scope of this project is to give the advance amount to those dealers based on the performance. Everyday a Batch job will run to track the number of contracts sold by the dealer and cancelled by the customer and updated the same into the table. A new screen will be developed to see those data, and to provide the advance to the dealers .

GRIR

The main objective of the project is to avoid the manual administration of paying

invoices based on the current data coming from NMPS and NIS. The goal is to enhance NMPS and NIS interfaces to accommodate the migration of data into SAP that will use standard GRIR functionality.

Create Interface between Nissan Forklift and NMAC for drafting dealer inventory. The Sales Interface system creates new loan setup transactions in the Shaw forklift transaction file for wholesale (Floor plan) loans that originate from external systems or entities. The sources for such loans are the daily file from the SAP Vehicles MSC system in Torrance .The system also provides online screens for users to correct data errors on suspended units and to configure dealer information that controls the classes of vehicles that can be funded by a dealership.

Warranty system takes care of daily claims processing and generation of monthly interfaces to external NNA applications is responsible for tracking transportation claims maintaining Vehicle accessory details.

Some other functionalities of this system include generation of reports for service audit, Service Parts and performing automated post approval claims audit. This system also takes care of recovery of warranty expense from manufacturers

Project involves fixing of bugs and Minor enhancements in the above applications with installations and users across the globe. The problems are logged through Remedy (tool). Support team need to pick up the logs and resolve them within stipulated time. The problem has to be reproduced in the support environment, fix the bug (data fix or code fix) and then promote to production with the help of Operations Team.
