EXPERIENCE

REGIONAL DIRECTOR, TROOPS TO TEACHERS PROGRAM (TTT), Georgia State University (March 2002 – October 2016)

Responsible for recruitment, counseling, management and transition assistance of over 3000 military veterans who became public school teachers across the SE United States. Grew program from a single state operation to a five state region with a staff of 20 and a yearly budget in excess of a million dollars. Responsivities included recruitment of military veterans, planning and coordination with senior military base leadership, school system HR professionals, state and university Departments of Education throughout my region. Duties included supervision and management of TTT state representatives, counseling of veterans, development and delivery of monthly Transition to Teaching Seminars across SE Region, maintaining currency of state teacher certification requirement options available in each state, contracting agreements and all other administration requirements for the SE Region.

LOGISTICS OFFICER, UNITED STATES ARMY, (February 1982 – March 2002)

Duties included, leadership and supervisory responsibilities for military units with over 400 personnel and equipment inventories in excess of $20,000,000. Depending on position, I had responsibility for operational planning, plan execution, inventory control, supply and logistics, administrative and operational support. Served as Public Relations Officer for US forces in Berlin, West Germany, Maintenance and Facilities Officer for 1st US Army, Deputy Inspector General and Battalion Executive Officer in the 13th Corps Support Command, Company Commander and Brigade Logistical Officer as well as the logistical planning officer for the Ft McCoy Directorate of Logistics during Desert Storm and Logistics Team Leader on the 1st Army Military Support to Civilian Agencies.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Productive motivator, counselor and instructor, responsible for assisting over 3,000 veterans in their transition from military service to careers as public school teachers.

Dedicated and responsible leader recognized by TTT National Office for having established and maintained “the standard” by which all other regional TTT operations are modeled.

Selected by National TTT Office to represent TTT at national conventions.
