Job Description

HCR Manorcare is a nursing home and rehabilitation center that meets the needs and health care goals of individuals who are discharged from hospitals and require additional nursing and rehabilitation care. As a License Practical Nurse (LPN), I work with patients/residents and perform the following duties:

Giving medication as prescribed by a physician

Taking vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight

Basic wound care including cleaning and bandaging injured areas

Giving injections of medication

Immunization

Taking medical histories

Entering information into computer systems

Ensuring patients and their families understand release instructions

Supervising CNAs and GNAs

Monitoring fluid and food intake and output

Moving patients safely

Assessing patient’s reactions to medications

Assessing patient’s mental health

Providing emotional support

Scheduling appointments

Keeping medical records current
