“At 211 , degrees, water is hot. At 212 degrees, it boils.

And with boiling water, comes steam.

And steam can power a locomotive.

One extra degree…makes all the difference.

And, the one extra degree of effort in business and life…separates

the good from the great!” -Sam Parker

Dear interviewer,

I would like to introduce myself via this letter, and my attached CV. My name is Rain Anne Giotta, and, as you might imagine, there is a bit of a romantic story of how I received the name Rain- though I digress. The purpose of this letter is to ask you to consider me for a position as part of your Medical Device sales team. As you will glean from my CV, I have a B.S. in Biology and have in the past mainly operated in specialty sales. Until recently I worked as a medical office manager for Dr. Michael P. Azevedo, my significant other of 6 years. Before then I invested 5 plus years at Endo Pharmaceuticals and Ameritox, both in specialty sales representative positions. I have a strong desire to broaden my sales experience in a narrower niched device company where I can utilize my technical knowledge.

During my five plus year tenure in the Central Valley, I have developed strong relationships on behalf of Endo and Ameritox. During this time, I acquired specialty sales techniques resulting in consistent performance within the top 15% of both Ameritox and Endo’s sales forces. The competitiveness of sales has been invigorating and motivating to achieve personal and financial rewards. Further, my experience working with personnel in the healthcare industry has taught me extensively about communicating with professionals in the medical community. I have found that my background in the hard sciences has provided the necessary foundation to comprehend fundamental concepts in biology and the medical sciences, which, I believe is critical to intelligently informing a physician with regard to the virtues of the drug or device you’re selling. I know all too well that on average a sales rep has but a few minutes to inform a physician about the positive attributes of the drug or device you’re selling. Indeed, a representative’s job is in some ways best viewed as educational resource for potentially prescribing physicians.

I also believe that working as an office manager for Dr. Azevedo has provided me with the opportunity to view the office as a whole, and to truly understand every role and stand point from the Medical Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Assistants, Prior Authorizations, Referrals, Front Office, Back Office, Patient Care, Externs, Medical legal, and Billing. This opportunity has given me a unique perspective for the internal workings of a medical practice.

I am looking to relocate back to the Bay Area and become part of an exceptional Medical Device Sales company. Thank you for taking the time to review my resume. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to be granted an interview. You can contact me at 925-***-****.

Sincerely,

Rain Giotta
