Alex J. DoBraska

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATION

I have 25 plus years of experience in the food container industry at many levels of involvement; hands on process tech, molding foreman, printing and labeling supervisor, maintenance and tooling manager, molding manager, assistant plant manager.

My best assets are my communication skills with team members, ability to direct the team by prioritizing the goals and putting a solid plan in place with follow up, putting systems in place to ensure production goals and quality goals are met, audits, my teams have never failed an audit or inspection such as: A.I.B., S.Q.F., Siliker, Diary commission, SNHD.

Goal

To utilize my many years of experience in the plastics industry to help a company achieve their goals.

WORK EXPERIENCE

3/3/13 to 7/13/17 Jabil Packaging Mount Pleasant, Iowa

Production Manager

Look at plant wide needs and then meet with all department heads to prioritize and make sure we are all on the same page and understand each others needs. Implement 5S philosophy and lean principles to help drive better processes and help reduce costs. Directing safety training and following our “near misses” reported was my top priority. Development of team members was also a very high priority, I greatly enjoyed helping team members reach their professional goals. Interviewing and hiring of employees was a weekly duty. Meeting with and documenting employees that are having areas of opportunity was also a weekly duty. Making sure that all employees are following company policies and procedures was a daily duty. Scheduling of tooling, automation, and machine P.M.’s was a daily duty. When customer complaints would occur I would put together a cross functional team to use the A3 format for trouble shooting and bring the root cause to the surface and then implement an engineered corrective action. Achieving all “Key Preforming Indicators” was a key measurable as to my performance: recordable injury’s, monthly output of parts, scrap rate, utilization, P.M.on time completion, held product, customer complaints, and on time shipment. I am proud of the fact that during this 3 year period all KPI’s were improved upon each year and goals were achieved.

11/12 to 11/13 Letica Corporation Jean, Nevada

Assistant Plant Manager

Look at plant wide needs and then meet with the department managers to direct and prioritize for the daily, weekly, and monthly goals. I continued to assume the molding manager duties while also helping direct the maintenance, tooling, paper cup forming, printing, quality, and warehouse departments. Continue to grow 5S philosophy and practices which goes with our lean manufacturing principles. Develop master processes and follow up with LPA’s to make sure the systems and processes are being followed and in control. Interviewing of all key hires along with preparing training programs and set follow ups to ensure the associates and company’s needs are being accomplished. Train the staff members and document training sessions. Evaluate disciplinary issues; supply the suitable documentation with a coach/counseling meeting. Handle customer complaints using the fishbone and 5 why’s methodology to get to the root cause, then develop a system or procedure to put in place as a corrective action. Set agenda and publish notes for pre-shift meetings. Ensure that company policies and procedures are being followed. Make sure all P.M. programs are being followed and documented. When tech’s could not achieve proper cavitations or cycle time I would trouble shoot the situation to determine if it is a press, mold, or process issue, then coach the tech’s as to how the problem was diagnosed and solved. Investigate all plant accidents and develop solid corrective actions so similar accidents don’t happen again.

2/10 to 11/12 Letica Corporation Jean, Nevada

Molding Supervisor to Molding Manager

Lead staffing to work in a clean, organized and safe manner. Team building: developing the existing talent on staff, and teaching and growing staff members that previously were not in skilled positions. Many of our key production decisions are made by the key skilled group, which provides employee buy in to our production goals. Implementing a packer production report for each line running, previously we did not have traceability to prove who packed what product. Now the packer/inspectors are 100% accountable for the products they pack. We have put in place a mold PM program, no tool is put on line till all variables are accounted for. This ensures that when the tools are hung they are ready to produce every part possible- full cavitations is our goal. Production numbers for each shift are now posted to promote healthy competition between all shifts. Communication between departments has been vital. This keeps all parties on the same page working for a common goal.
