PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
INFOSYS TECHNOLOGIES, Monterrey, N.L, México (September 2009 – April 2016)
Technology Analyst
Project: Bancolombia (Onsite at Colombia / India / México - 5.5 years)
Developed software for the interaction of different banking systems, facing customer’s engineering teams at one of the largest banks in Latin America. Key member in the complete software development cycle, from requirement gathering to technical design, development, testing support and implementation.
Provided support for Oracle Databases and Unix servers as environment administrator, deploying and configuring single and cluster setups with load balancing.
Generated shell scripting tools for automation of server administration tasks.
Provided system architecture design consultancy for the implementation of Finacle Core banking solution. Developed optimized code for running on large sets of data.
Acted as onsite technical team anchor, coordinating efforts between offshore (India) and onsite (Colombia) development teams.
Handled Oracle Database tuning, performance-testing assistance, system updates administration, software versioning systems and imparted different customer trainings.
Technology/Languages: Unix (AIX / UX), Oracle 10g-11g, PL/SQL, Java, JavaScript and JSP programming. Installed/Configured IBM WAS, MQ server, Load Balancer, SVN.
Project: Banca MIFEL (México - 1 year)
Solved production Unix-UX / Oracle environment issues and maintained Java, JavaScript, Oracle PL/SQL software, coordinating efforts for development and testing between onsite (México) and offshore (India) teams.
Provided onsite technical 24/7 production support for real time and batch inter-bank payment systems, playing a key anchor role for stabilizing bank operations. Optimized transaction processing algorithms in order to achieve required system throughput.
AMI-GE AUTOMATION AND CONTROL, Monterrey, México (October 2007 – July 2009)
Automation Engineer
Project: Ternium-Hylsa (1.5 years)
Programmed C/C++ automation software and HMIs for Real Time OS QNX running on embedded controllers at metal processing production lines, using QNX’s multithreading, interruptions, semaphores, and memory management.
Designed a digital filtering algorithm for processing metal milling speed data, in order to optimize the graphic rendering of the process.
Technology/Languages: C/C++ and shell scripting on QNX, SCADA systems (Cimplicity, iVision). MySQL, MSSQL databases.
Project: Statistical Tools R&D (6 months)
Programmed a MATLAB tool for analyzing and finding optimal sampling frequencies in the control of electric arch furnaces.
Developed a real-time statistical-analysis system for industrial metal mills (data gathering and derivation of statistical information based on the output thickness of running metal). The system was designed for providing insight on the impacts of modifying different milling parameters.
Designed a web application for visualization of the results, used for fine-tuning of the milling process.
Technology/Languages: MATLAB, C/C++, C#, VB, JSP, MSSQL, Windows Services.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING M.SC. (2 years)
Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Studies. México, December 2007. CGPA: 95/100.
Master degree’s major on statistical inference, adaptive digital filters design (Wiener, Kalman, etc.) and embedded systems programming (VHDL-AMS).
