Junior Design Engineer – Summer Intern, Pranshu Electricals Pvt. Ltd., India. Interned at a leading AC/DC Motor manufacturing company in India as a mechanical design engineer. Analyzed & improved the construction of DC Torque Motors used for throttle control in an IC Engine in cars, trucks & buses. Also, worked closely with the Global Expansion division of the company to improve sales in overseas markets.

Collaborative Robot for Assistance in Surgery (Masters Research Project) Developed a 6-DOF manipulator Robot that assists doctors in surgery. Handles different medical equipment in pick, place & organize on a tray. Raspberry Pi 3 with Servo Control shield, 3D printed joints and electromagnets were used to develop the prototype. Programming was done using Python and OpenCV with color tracking algorithms. Kinetic Energy Recovery System (Bachelors Senior Project) Designed and manufactured a regenerative braking system using the fast & loose pulley mechanism to generate electricity when braking a vehicle and store it in a battery. Prototype was retro fitted in a 2008 Hyundai Accent car and testing it showed an increase in the fuel economy by 1.2 km/liter. 3D Modelling was done using AutoDesk Inventor Pro & CATIA V5. Simulations generated using HyperWorks & ANYSYS FEA. NYU Hyperloop – FEA Analyst

Member of the NYU Tandon School of Engineering’s first ever Hyperloop team. The international Hyperloop competition, sponsored by SpaceX, intends to challenge young engineers to develop a futuristic mode of transportation. Responsible for verifying structural integrity of the pod design using computational FEA methods (ANSYS) and providing feedback to the team to iterate & improve the mechanical design of the pod. Design of a Single Piston Reciprocating Air Compressor System Modeled a stationary, reciprocating air compressor system as a part of a course that focused on Design of Mechanical Systems. The compressor had many subsystems including piston cylinder, crankshaft, belt drive, connecting rod, end bearings and a reservoir. The project showcased the CAD designs, mechanical FEA, structural stability reports, manufacturing process sheets and mass production cost of the compressor system. Motion Planning using Machine Learning Algorithm

Analyzed existing research done in the field of mobile robotics and proposed a new Neural Network based approach for path planning of a differential drive robot. The algorithm used sensory data for localization & mapping of an environment and suggested a ‘safe’ route for the robot to navigate avoiding obstacles while maintaining a variable distance from the objects.
