In the past couple of years I have been caring for indigent patients as a home care nurse. My patients comprise of Alzheimer’s, traches, quadriplegics total care, g- tubes, extensive wound care, mental health, infusion and IV care.
I have experience as a Cna, home health, detox and dual diagnosis nurse and registered nurse in most areas of the hospital, nursing homes, prisons, jails, djjs, hospice hospitals and psychiatric centers. I enjoy working in most departments. I would like to work in Jails/Prisons, Recovery, pre-op, post- op,, infusion therapy, cardiac, ER, and psyche. I have worked nights most of the time but will work any shift . I travel in inclement weather.
I plan on returning to college to receive my BS degree, renew my teachers certificate to teach IV therapy, some ICD-10 coding, computers, Psychiatric certificate and sociology.
I need to return to work now; however at least part time.I am a very strong nurse. I am also working as a volunteer at South Haven hospital.
I have used several programs to chart electronically, Epic, Cerner, and As-400. I can work any shift,.
I have my recent ACLS, PALS, CPR, and CPI.

I worked with different facilities and police depts. to facilitate the evaluation and treatment of mental health patients. Some were baker-acted and others were volunteers; some being exported by a judge. After information was forwarded to me I called the doctor for orders to further evaluate and treat and admit.

Worked as RN staff and charge nurse on cardiac/med-surg unit. Most of the time I cared for Post- surgical and cardiac cath. patients in the plasty room and recovery combination.
I was responsible for pulling the arterial and venous catheter lines after measuring arterial coagulation time, keeping patient down till safe to get up and total patient care. I measured the neck of carotid surgeries patients and total patient care. There were six patients here and many times I had 4 patients in the other telemetry unit.

I was hired in as a DON to this facility which had been denied its license. State and federal funds had been withheld. The facility was supposed to be vacant of all patients in 30 days. The new administrator had no knowledge of nursing homes. She was a purchasing agent for the company and a student nurse, so my team had to bring this facility back around in 30 days. We worked 24/7 in nursing, environmental, and nutrition making new policies and following through. I helped with the MDSs, full staffing, kitchen, med pass, and total Pt care. In our ten bed head trauma and kidney unit I learned peritoneal and hemodialysis care. Educational updates were round the clock. We were reinstated. I started most of the IVs there.

I was 3/11 shift supervisor. I had to start all IV’s and monitor them, staff the floors, audit charts, audit staff records and council staff about performance, retrieve charts from medical records, and get supplies, and help with PT care. I was hired in as a temporary supervisor as new management which hired me, were making many changes throughout the facility.
