Two assignments with Worldwide Travel Staffing. Augusta, Maine. Civil/Forensic 125 bed State Psychiatric Facility. Administered medications, constant assessing of patients, daily charting, heavy patient interaction, monitored for medication/behavioral reactions. Responsible for 3/5 staff members. Ensured safety of units at all times. Butner, North Carolina- 382 State Psychiatric Hospital that housed Adults, children and adolescence. I worked with children and adolescence ages 5-18 years old, also pulled to other units with different populations when needed. Gained experience with Omnicell System for medication administration. Meditech used for daily charting. Heavy assessment skills utilized, especially with younger children. Responsible for staff members and daily assignments. Level 6 facility. Private long term behavioral treatment center for adolescence. Responsible for 3 male units. Census maintained at 50 boys total. Responsible for medication administration, charting by exception and weekly summaries, worked hand in hand with entire treatment team with two doctors and therapists. Daily patient assessment to monitor for any potential side effects of medications along with behavioral changes. Managed 3-4 staff members that maintained daily activities for patients. Ensured safety on units at all times. Responsible for patient education that was required in many areas such as ADL’s, medication, daily goals.

Psychiatric Charge/Staff Nurse (Travel) 7/2014 – 3/2015

Two assignments with Worldwide Travel Staffing. One in Augusta, Maine. The second assignment in Berlin, Vermont. Both assignments were State Psychiatric Hospitals, with the first being 125 beds and the second was 25 beds. The population in Maine was civil/forensic and Vermont was all forensic. I floated between all units. Meditech utilized for daily charting. Pyxis system used for medication administration. Heavy assessment skills were utilized in both facilities. Responsible for all medical treatments done in house. Worked closely with the entire treatment team. Heavy monitoring of patients behavior for any changes.
