A key business partner on the senior management team for the entire HR function for 5 plants, 2 distribution facilities, the engineering, sales, sales engineering, quality assurance teams. Responsible for all HR issues including employee relations, union avoidance, employment testing, performance management, HRIS management, labor relations, collective bargaining, strategic leadership training, coach/mentoring training, strategic planning training, situational leadership training, SOX compliance, ISO, lean manufacturing, ADP time keeping/payroll, SAP, Kronos, international human resources, compliance training, benefits, full-cycle recruiting, safety, visa management, organizational management, compensation, project management, climate surveys, Affirmative Action Plan and consulting.

During the period 2006-2014 Conducted the average of 121 STOP safety audits annually which helped the team achieve a 1.89 Incident rate and .4 days away rate-in addition this is one of the criteria of our bench mark award.

Conducted full-cycle recruiting that included candidate testing, interviewing, AAP compliance, ISO compliance, on boarding, e-verify compliance, Drug and Alcohol, Harassment, ISO and Policy training that resulted an average 5% turnover for non-exempt EEs and 1% for exempt employees during a 15 year period.

From 2001 to 2014 as the company representative negotiated the Mexican CBA, created and implemented a strategic plan to analyze data and negotiate the contract and on an annual basis established a collaborative climate with the Mexican labor union representatives, union agents and union workers resulting in 0 strikes, a 4.2% increase for wages, 3% for benefits and 1 grievance.

Ensured I-9, SAP SOX, ISO, HR, AAP, ADP benefits, compensation were self- audited to ensure external audits received no compliance issues including balancing hours worked balanced on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis. This resulted in SOX passing all controls, ISO certifications were renewed, ensured I-9, AAP and EEOC external audits passed and complied with federal contracts. Audited payroll records to ensure they matched ADP, SAP and Kronos timekeeping/payroll records.

Completed Train-the Trainer courses for Strategic Planning, Situational Leadership, Coaching, and Performance Management. This resulted in training Senior Management, Supervisors, Managers and Lead employees through- out the firm which included 25 leaders per course for 12 facilities including MX, CA, OR, CO, TX, LA, WV and KS which resulted in well- equipped leaders for the entire organization and a seamless effort to introduce and implement the performance review and management program which included SMART objectives.

Scheduled and conducted HR meetings and audits with the HR team in Monterrey including setting goals each week through conference calls and visits to prepare for government and external auditors-the results were 2 Mexican Safety awards, 3 clear IMSS audits and INFONAVIT audit. These results keep our experience and credit rating low which resulted in no fines.

Created the HR departments for the Monterrey and Fort Worth facilities including creating job descriptions, medical records, personal records, payroll records, training records, I-9 records, confidential files, compensation surveys, market surveys, compensation audits, performance review implementation, compliance training, benefits annual benefits open enrollments, creating SAP Business Process procedures, creating AAP files, DOT compliance and record keeping, Focus Four safety training, implement our lean objectives, creating Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) job codes, visa processing, application creation and consultation which helped the team exceeding in the areas of profitability, quality, safety and on-time delivery of responsibility earning the Company’s Benchmark Award 3 times.

Led Monterrey and Saginaw teams during their capital improvement and expansion through an aggressive quality recruiting and hiring effort by creating sourcing and hiring procedures and utilizing temporary services to help meet our objectives – this helped both facilities meet increased production levels-10,000 man hours/week.

Implemented and managed the Drug and Alcohol policy including conducting no- notice quarterly random drug testing program, ensured all protocols were followed, conduct, reviewed and revised Drug and Alcohol policy, conducted Drug and Alcohol training, DOT applicant processing, background inquiries, coordinated and facilitated Reasonable Suspicion training, conducted annual DOT random drug testing which resulted in meeting federal contractor requirements, The Drug-Free Workplace Act and Company policy which resulted in bid eligibility for all water projects which allowed the facilities to save $1M annually.

Completed 3 cycles of recertification for the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) certifications, 1 General Benefits Associate certification and 1 SHRM-SCP certification which translates to over 60 strategic and global strategic hours and ensures optimum customer service for all employees.

I trained 6 people in Mexico, Ft. Worth, Bossier City and Houston on SAP HR modules, ADP and Kronos. This resulted in the teams performing their payroll, benefits, and HRIS tasks in a confident manner-which allows the team to produce any HR product error free and in-line with our lean and SOX philosophies.

Created and explained Total Compensation Reports to all non-exempt team members on a one-on-one basis-this encourages and educates the employees to investigate their total rewards package, utilize their benefits, ask important questions and increase participation in their defined contributions.

Conducted and explained the Behavioral Science Technology (BST) Organizational Culture Diagnostic Tool surveys to every exempt and non-exempt employee that resulted in 12 climate areas exceeding 80 percentile, 3 exceeding 90 percentile and 1 exceeding 95 percentile resulting in a 20 point gap compared to the other facilities. The results supported the 10-14% margins for the 3 plants and 2 distribution facilities.

Conducted the FLSA audit using the job descriptions, worksheets, SME inputs and met with senior leaders to ensure all employees were classified as exempt or non-exempt which resulted in no misclassifications, LCA certification hence possible lawsuits by individuals or audits from the DOL and Department of Justice.

2000-2001 Workforce Development Director, Associated Builders and Contractors Manufacturing and Construction

Responsible for enhancing the image of the construction industry in North Texas using Human Resources and Safety initiatives such as training in Safety, Compensation, Immigration, I-9, Recruiting, Employee Branding, Grant Awards, Employment Law Seminars.

Created, developed and directed a workforce development plan to enhance the image of the Construction industry, which contained over 20 individual programs/projects this allowed the industry to market their product and enhance their employer brand.

Created, submitted and applied for OSHA Susan Harwood Grant and became Project Director for the Grant-this brought $400,000 to the industry to conduct safety classes on OSHA’s focus four. This resulted in 2000 workers trained in the 4 most common accidents in the construction industry at no cost to the clients and the firm.

Performed recruiting, interviewing, marketing, public speaking, advertising, grant writing, and human resource planning for the North Texas region-this enhanced the industry’s image and enhanced the recruiting efforts through the public information info commercials, Junior Achievement and NASCAR.

Directed volunteer recruiting efforts for the Junior Achievement program targeting technical professional careers for Dallas and Fort Worth-which helps kids learn the value of staying in school.
