residential & commercial waste handler (satiation Worker) waste management
My main responsibility is to collect the trash. That responsibility includes more than dumping garbage cans into the back of a trash truck. It can include bulk items such as furniture and appliances. It also calls for recycling collection, which, depending on the city or township, could include understanding how to properly separate recyclables for later reclamation. Another skill I had to possess was the ability to handle hazardous waste. Hazardous waste might include paint cans, combustible materials and other dangerous chemicals that have been discarded by consumers. I had to identify the chemicals and take necessary precautions to ensure proper cleanup and disposal of them. Depending on the material -- such as house paints and other combustibles or poisons, such as insect killer -- I was also required to clean and dispose of the material themselves. 08/2011 to 11/2013
