Edward H. “Hack” Hewson Jr. ~ Founder, Owner and CEO of the Hewson Family Enterprises (2007) I cannot recommend this woman highly enough to future employers. Hire her, if she moves forward after cancer takes me. She has remained loyal to our family and company and is beyond compare among my employees over decades. Meg single handedly helped us take my companies from three entities to twenty-three entities in a space of three years. She is a workhorse. A pleasure to work with. SHE GETS THINGS DONE. Done well and right. Colonel (ret.) James A. Bartlett ~ U.S. Army (2010) I have known Meg McDonald since she was a child and have always found her to maintain the highest moral and ethical standards. She possesses brilliant intellect, a strong sense of purpose and is truly dedicated to family and friends. Her capabilities and capacity for achievement are extraordinary. She has been chief executive of her own company and has maintained a top-notch performance record throughout her career. In spite of busy schedules at work and in graduate school, she has found time to actively pursue a myriad of beneficial community and charitable activities. Meg’s background, education, compassion and interpersonal skills make her an ideal candidate. It is without reservation that I recommend her. Peter Morton ~ President, Peter M. Morton Consulting Inc. (2010) I met Meg through Seattle University on the Center for Leadership Formation Alumni Council! Meg is a diligent and professional associate, and is a pleasure to work with. Edward H. Hewson III ~ (Current) Owner and CEO, Hewson Family Enterprises (2010) Meg is excellent at figuring out solutions to tough problems and organizing the troops to get things done. Meg has the ability to organize diverse groups of people and ride-herd on all the participants until the goal has been achieved.

Jesus Rodriguez ~ Board Member, City of Seattle Immigrant & Refugee Advisory Board (2010) Meg is a very intelligent, dependable and hardworking professional with great job experience who also volunteers time working on community issues to end racism, sexism and other injustices. She produces excellent work and is quite conscientious about projects that she undertakes. I recommend her highly for any position that she undertakes.

Rosemary Bannon Tyksinski ~ Owner, Lake Washington Counseling Center (2003) As a long-time tenant of an upscale property I found myself in an exasperating situation that was fraught with prolonged frustration. During this process Meg showed a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail that stood out in bold relief. She did what she said she would do on schedule without fail. She adroitly handled numerous roles in the organization, diffused tensions (over which she had no control), offered reassurance and direction, while treating me with the utmost respect and dignity. I found Meg to be bright, responsive, resourceful, knowledgeable, and nimble in managing requests, coordinating projects, providing information and connecting me with the resources I needed. She always presented with unruffled composure and admirable discretion despite the circumstances. I recommend Meg in the highest possible terms. She is a rare find.

Patti Stewart ~ Administrative Services Manager, Convera / Vertical Search Works (2010) Meg is a motivated woman of numerous talents and considerable self-discipline. Her personality is delightful. She is sensitive, flexible, trustworthy, funny, and respected by her friends, her peers and her superiors alike. More important, however, is that Meg’s dreams become realities. This is perhaps her strongest, most admirable trait. She dreamt of living in Seattle and she now does, she dreamt of caring for her beloved niece (in need of care) and she made that happen, and most compelling to me was watching Meg take an idea she’d had for many years to build a special art studio, a unique gathering place for artists of all mediums, to come and work, share their talents and teach our children the arts. She wrote the business plan, secured the financing, leased the location, purchased the equipment, and designed the marketing plan. Meg's dream, once again, became reality when she launched Open Door Studios in Seattle in 2007. I am very impressed by Meg and recommend her unhesitatingly. She completed all special projects on schedule and her work was exemplary. I am confident that, if selected for your vacancy, she would provide the same high level of service and commitment. David Liles ~ Director of Finance, Metro Ready Mix (2002) As Controller and leader of the firm's administrative team, I found Meg to be a person of valuable skills and good character. She is exceptionally organized, quick-minded and exercises good judgment. Her pleasant disposition and good attitude make challenging projects less challenging. Given the opportunity I would offer Meg another position and can in clear conscience recommend her to you as a valuable employee. Shawn Toops ~ President, Flame Technologies, Inc. (2010) Meg is a very intelligent contributor to analytical board or committee situations. She brings professionalism and dependability that guides the planning process. She understands and adapts to the personalities of people allowing for constructive and efficient dialogue when working with groups. Additional references available upon request.

Re: Letter of reference for Meg McDonald

I worked with Meg McDonald from 25 July through 8 September 2014. I served as Vice President of the Board of Holy Trinity Episcopal School during this time. Furthermore, I served on the Board’s Finance Committee. I have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and an MBA in Finance from Rice University. We hired Meg McDonald as an independent consultant to help us prepare for a financial audit as a part of a five year accreditation. The schools accounting records were in disorder, having passed through the hands of several poorly qualified individuals over several years. Meg reported directly to the Board, and more specifically the Finance Committee. Her scope was to clean up prior year financials, and restructure the books of the institution going forward in accordance with best practices, and work on a day by day basis with the auditors. This was an extremely challenging project, walking into an unknown situation with years of improper book keeping to clean up. I was impressed by the enthusiasm with which Meg took on this challenge. She demonstrated mastery of Quick Books and generally accepted accounting practices, specifically some of the nuances around non- profit institutions. Meg’s work ethic was exemplary. She worked many evenings and weekends without complaint to get the project done on time.

Thanks to Meg’s work, Holy Trinity Episcopal School was able to pass the prior year audit, and was successful in maintaining its accreditation.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Hayden Hill
