Highly technical and motivated petroleum engineer who persistently investigated practical solutions to resolve complex problems. Wide range of experience covering all the reservoir-engineering aspects of an asset life cycle with strong background in drilling operations and economic analysis. Experience also includes sales and software support and development. Experienced in delivering value to customers and doing technical sales. Expertise in: Field Development Planning Reservoir Simulation Reserves Evaluation Production Forecasting Tight

& Shale Reservoirs Multi-frac Horizontal Wells PTA RTA Software Sales Customer Support PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

IHS INC., Calgary, AB 2012 – 2016

Research Director and Advisor – Unconventional Reservoirs Served on the Community of Best Practice – Unconventional Resource Development team. The focus was to promote the application of IHS Harmony Rate Transient Analysis (RTA) and modeling methods to the analysis of production data from multi-frac horizontal wells (MFHW) completed in shale/tight reservoirs.

• Presented demos on “Best practice for unconventional Reservoir Analysis Methods” using IHS Harmony

• Presented demos on the IHS Harmony and IHS Piper, to support the sales campaign in North Africa and Europe

(Algeria, Egypt and UK)

• Instructed and co-instructed “Rate Transient Analysis Fundamentals using IHS Harmony” course (ARC Resources and Talisman Energy, Calgary - Khalda Petroleum Company, Egypt)

• Provided technical support (phone, email and face-to-face) to customers on Harmony software

• Developed methodology for practical reservoir characterization that used a Numerical-Equivalent Analytical Model concept, allowing engineers to better estimate the Estimated Ultimate Recovery (EUR) potential of a well using the analytical reservoir model which is much quicker than the numerical model.

• Developed and participated in developing new analysis workflows, utilizing IHS Harmony Rate Transient Analysis

(RTA) methods to analyze production data for (MFHW) in Eagle Ford and Bakken. New workflows presented guidelines for clients to evaluate completion, stimulation efficiencies, and reserves. PHARAONIC PETROLEUM COMPANY (PHPC), Cairo, Egypt 2010 – 2011 Senior Reservoir Engineer

Led reservoir management (modeling and surveillance) activities to develop and optimize recovery from existing assets

(nonassociated gas production system, Nile Delta, Egypt). The wells were completed with cased-hole gravel packing and permanent down-hole pressure gauges. Served as focal point between PHPC and EGAS (Egypt governmental shareholder), communicating development plans, production forecast, and reserve estimates.

• Established guidelines for multirate and pressure transient testing (flow duration time on each choke and well choking up increments) for existing and new wells, optimizing and reducing test duration for more reliable analysis results. SARAWAK SHELL BERHAD (Offshore Non-Associated Gas Development), Sarawak, Malaysia 2006 – 2010 Reservoir Engineer

Managed and optimized exploitation and development activities in the Shallow Clastics Field (SC) offshore nonassociated gas field (Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) complex at Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia). The wells were completed with open-hole gravel packing and permanent down-hole gauges.

• Maintained up-to-date models, optimizing remaining development phases of field consisting of drilling 8 wells through 2 existing platforms.

• Led the team through several successful reserve and full-field reviews with shareholders (Petronas)

• Built integrated 3D dynamic model for full-field review of Shallow Clastics field, concluding and evaluating outcome from approved development phases and assessing viability of additional drilling center.

• Built analytical and numerical models that assessed uncertainties in borehole pressure predictions, supporting drilling operations.

IHAB SAAD MAHMOUD ********.*******@*****.*** PAGE TWO

• Designed and planned surveillance operations (buildup, flow-after-flow, interference tests, and RFT), evaluating wells productivities and skins and investigating reservoir lateral connectivity. Incorporated results into building reliable numerical models used for well planning and forecasting scenarios.

• Adapted advanced PTA techniques for reinterpreting old well tests and evaluating mechanical skin due to drilling and gravel-pack completion. Increased drainage area (1-offset unit size) for reserve booking, improving productivity and reducing damage for new development wells.

HALLIBURTON DIGITAL CONSULTING, Luanda, Angola 2005 – 2006 Reservoir Engineering Consultant

Provided technical leadership and coaching for customers’ junior Reservoir Engineering staff.

• Prepared and executed basic Reservoir Engineering mentoring program for Sonangol P&P (6 engineers), Sonangol concessionary (3 engineers), and Chevron (2 engineers) companies, improving skill levels in RE team. EAST ZEIT PETROLEUM CO. (ZEITCO – Offshore Oil Development), Cairo, Egypt 2003 – 2005 Reservoir Studies Section Head

Provided reservoir engineering support for East Zeit offshore oil fields (Gulf of Suez, Egypt), updating models and supporting development and exploration drilling activities.

• Maintained current reservoir simulation models, assessing possible development scenarios, water injection, and horizontal well drilling. Models enabled operator to make development decisions, creating substantial increase in rate and reserves.

GENERAL PETROLEUM CO. (GPC – Onshore and Offshore Oil & Gas Development), Cairo, Egypt 1994 - 2003 Reservoir Engineer Section Head

Served as Reservoir Engineer in the Field Development Planning team, to optimize production from matured clastics and carbonate oil fields (20 to 50 years of production life). In addition to leadership role to relocate the company annual budget between the different development activities in the different producing fields (~ 13 producing oil fields; Western Desert, Eastern Desert and Sinai districts).

• Planned and supervised surveillance and gas injection optimization activities for Gharib and Bakr/Amer immiscible gas injection operations

• Coordinated and managed development activities for Issaran heavy oil (carbonate) field preparing for steam injection pilot

• Supervised monthly production allocation report preparation for more than 13 fields and more than 500 hundred wells.

• Shared in building the reservoir engineering database (Reviewing production and pressure data by well and by reservoir levels, PVT and core data)

• Led workover campaigns that resulted in increasing and maintaining company production profile from depletion

• Worked on converting the SWS field reservoir model from VIP to ECLIPSE.

• Participated in preparing and evaluating Bakr/Amer full-field study scope of work and technical offers

• Managed the wire-line logging & perforation (2 MM$/Year) and TCP perforation (600 M$/Year) contracts for 5 years EDUCATION / PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS
