Human Resources Director
Over 23 years of experience in Human Resources, of which 13 years in a management role, including 9 years as a Director of HR. I developed my expertise in HR from from various industries, including Hospitality, Manufacturing and Consulting. Because I come from various industries, I bring with me best practices from these industries. My experience includes Corporate Human Resource Planning and Implementation of Systems (HRIS), as well as handling day-to-day operations, including HR shared services. I partner with the business leaders to bring more comprehensive and responsible HR services. I have developed an eye for process improvement, quality assurance and customer service. 1. Pre Opened three properties for The Ascott Limited, namely Citadines Salcedo Makati (May 2014), Ascott Bonifacio Global City (November 2014) and Somerset Alabang Manila (July 2016) as part of the expansion program of the Company. Handled all HR requirements, including but not limited to recruitment and placement, compensation and benefits, OD, others. These property openings provided opportunities for over 100 temporary staff to become regular associates as well as new entrants into the industry.

2. Member of the Executive Management Committee for the past 9 years which sets strategic directions for the company, including business and human resource planning.
3. Introduced developmental programs for hospitality associates in order to improve their skills and knowledge and to serve as a succession program. a. Pan Pacific Manila – introduced competency development program to enable butlers to acquire different knowledge and skills in different departments so that they may be promoted thru the ranks. Introduced the level of a Team Leader
(Supervisor) which help improve overall employee morale. b. Revived and strengthened the Supervisory and Management Development program for The Ascott Limited known as the Red Shirt program. As of December 2016, 64% of the graduates occupy managerial positions, while 45% of graduates occupy supervisory positions.
4. Improved Employee Satisfaction Scores
a. Pan Pacific Manila – 22% increase in satisfaction levels (out of 100%) b. The Ascott Limited - Overall Engagement Scores increased by 10 points. In an internal customer survey score, improved satisfaction ratings by 0.35 points out of a 5 point scale.
c. In both hospitality companies, reduced turnover by 10%. 5. Passed DOLE audits and won labor relations cases filed in National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC).
6. Under Luen Thai group (apparel and shoes manufacturing company) a. Was the first mover in HR to roll-out Corp HR programs in China. b. Helped design, develop and roll-out the company’s global HR Information System (HRIS) across the various manufacturing plants. c. Implemented the re-organization of various manufacturing companies of Luen Thai according to the major business processes.
d. Developed salary scales for the various companies. e. First foreigner in HR to manage the HR department of GJM in China. 7. Developed, reviewed and rolled out at four (4) Employee Handbooks and Codes of Discipline for HEALTHDev Institute, Building Care Corporation, Pan Pacific Manila and The Ascott Limited – Philippine Cluster.
8. Led Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and partnerships in Pan Pacific Manila and The Ascott Limited.
a. In Pan Pacific Manila, the Youth Career Development Program trained out-of- school high school graduates to become hospitality professionals. Many are now part of the industry and have improved the quality of life for themselves and their families.
b. In The Ascott Limited, raised over PHP1M as assistance towards the rebuilding of a school in Tacloban, Leyte in partnership with World Vision. c. Became the biggest single institutional partner of Gawad Kalinga for Kusina ng Kalinga program, its feeding program. Raised over PHP1M for the program. 9. Established the range of HR functions in HEALTHDev Institute, an NGO in the health sector.
