COACHING PHILOSOPHY
My coaching philosophy is based on sound scientific principles, proven practical methods and years of experience. Lifts at the core of my program are ground-based activities that incorporate full range of motion, functional strength gains and power development. Conditioning sessions are energy-system appropriate to each sport. Speed and agility routines are designed to promote efficient and athletic movement. All of these components add up to make a well- balanced program that will reduce injuries and produce successful athletes/teams. QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY
Instruction and Demonstration of Technique – Developed a concise method for teaching lifting, speed, and agility progressions. Ability to communicate proper lifting technique to each individual athlete. Natural aptitude for an on- the-floor coaching style.
Programming and Testing – Design and implement programs for in-season and off-season cycles that increase power and strength and are based on scientific literature and experience. Testing protocols are calibrated to key performance indicators for each sport.
Weight Room Design and Budgeting – Routinely research and purchase equipment for weight room expansion and improvement, working within budget constraints. Designed a multimillion-dollar facility (space and equipment) while serving as Director of Strength and Conditioning at Collegiate School (a private K-12 institution). Staff Supervision – Supervised assistants, graduate assistants, and interns; perform employee evaluations. Coordination – Effective communicator able to coordinate with athletic training room staff and sport coaches, leading to low injury rates and improved turn-around time from training room to the field.
