Part of Corporate team that did needs assessment and use case studies with members of all rolls at five divisions in three states, that led to selection and purchase of Baan ERP package.

Developed initial Software Requirements Specification (SRS) for customizations of a multimillion dollar project to replace an aging mainframe payroll system. Data Mapping/Modeling --

Developed ETL packages that moved data into and out of a 68 table database/warehouse I created using Visual Studio/SSDT-2015, Navicat, SSMS 2014 and SSIS.

Led ETL project team that researched and purchased a data conversion tool (V-Edit) to convert Genesys Ebcdic VSAM mainframe files into ASCII MS-SQL 2000 tables. Developed data mapping from copy books that were used to download the mainframe data and massaged/scrubbed it into SQL 2000 comparable import files into Ceridian.

Created conceptual, logical and physical models that lead to a 45 table relational database in both SQL-2000 and Access. Using Visual Studio 2003 and Visual Basic. Net.

HRIS Integration --

Implemented and supported Ceridian HPW HRIS Suite at three different Companies for over ten years.

Researched, purchased and installed Stromberg Time and Attendance package in five Divisions in three states (similar to Kronos). Saved over $20,000 per year in each of five Manufacturing Divisions by Integrating shop/labor reporting with time and attendance, payroll and ERP costing software. Operations reporting.

Database Architect

Case New Holland Commercial Services (Contractor thru E-team) 11/2016 to 5/2017

Design and implement a new marketing Database/Warehouse

Developed a database that fed a Marketo email marketing campaign. Data-Mined/Scrubbed over seven million customer contacts (over 10 years of data) to arrive at 250,000 valid unique email addresses and their Brand requests.

Created a data-mart to be used by the international Dealer network (US and Canada) to identify targeted customers. Starting with an analytics study that identified 50/4 different types of farms and farmers to target, data-mined the Farm Journal data-set (over a million records with 350 attributes defining American and Canadian farms) to summarize the data into the categories allowing for simple queries.

Using a model and requirements created by Corporate Marketing developed and documented a 68 table database using Navicat and SSMS 2014 that is the basis of the data warehouse used for marketing contacts by the Dealer network.

Using Visual Studio/SSDT-2015 and SSIS developed ETL packages that moved data into and out of the above database.

Business Analyst IV

Milwaukee County 7/2005 to 1/2016

Define Business requirements, create SRS for customizations, test, implement, document and train a Ceridian HRIS Cloud application suite (Recruiting, HR Payroll Web, Time & Attendance & Benefits)

Developed project schedules in MS-Project, wrote specification requirements, testing plans, training documentation using Visio and Word and supported implementation in all phases.

Saved Milwaukee County millions of dollars in potential lawsuits. Because of complex exceptional cases, causing UAT failure at go live, created a functional “shadow system” that correctly processed retirement reporting, increment and probation reporting and complex seniority calculations. Using Access and SQL-2000 developed reporting and EDI data transfer to Genesys (mainframe) and then V3 (Oracle) retirement systems and well as corrected imports into Ceridian.

Did 100% testing of Ceridian's eventual solutions.

Developed ETL process and database to create complex financial labor distribution reconciliation reports used by the Milwaukee County Sheriffs Department to obtain multimillion dollar Federal Grants.

Working with existing software and Golf Professionals, did discovery and documented the golf tournament “process”, developed specifications, work flow charts in Word and Visio.

Using Visual Studio and Visual Basic. Net, ADO. Net, ASP. Net and Crystal Reports 9, developed complex logic & application for events, player entry, teaming, flighting, multiple team tee times and the 1800 different ways to score events, over 600,000 lines of code.

Western Industries 4/1996 to 3/2002

Implement a Baan IVb2 ERP software solution ($3.9 million dollar budget)

Project Manager responsible for successful on time and under budget implementation of a 3.9 million Baan IVb2 ERP Suite in five divisions in three states.

Because Western Industries was too lean to dedicate a traditional ERP team for the three year implementation, I developed a unique project plan: With the approval of the CEO, CFO and Divisional Controllers hired & managed six Business Analysts (one for each Division) set up a Training facility at the pilot Division and with all, took over six months formal Baan training bringing all the Divisional specialists (all the Purchasing Agents for Purchasing module, Engineers, Sales, Finance etc.) in to training to document current and future practices.

Over six months formal Baan training and six years experience supporting all Modules; Common: Master data, Systems Administration and Tools. Distribution: sales commissions, sales orders and marketing, purchasing and receiving. Manufacturing: MPS, MRP, CRP, SIC, shop floor control, engineering data management, routings, BoM’s, cost accounting and small Projects. Finance: General Ledger, budget and financial statements, AP, AR and financial integration’s.

Using Visio, Word, Tools 6.1, Crystal & Arpeggio report writers) developed new company/Baan processes and procedures. Developed over a thousand pages of data models, end user training manuals as well custom reports and forms. Created dashboards for CFO and CEO.

Saved over $20,000 per year in each of five Manufacturing Divisions by Integrating shop/labor reporting with time and attendance, payroll and ERP costing software. Using Access via ODBC to connect and process manual input from the shop floor combined with Stromberg T&A (FoxPro DB), Ceridian Source 550 (SQL-7) and Baan (Informix DB) to streamline Accounting and Operations reporting.

Worked closely with CFO and Divisional Controllers to develop a unified General Ledger and dimensions (Baan ERP sub-ledger accounts) as well as the initial financial integration’s (the mapping of the logistical events to their financial results).

Taught Baan costing methodology to Division Controllers, led discussion and helped develop final costing process.

Led cross functional teams of up to twenty at each of five Divisions, trained and worked with end users to integrate the new Baan procedures into best business practices.

Installed and tested SQL-7 and Citrix Metaframe in an N-tiered multi-server design to support Ceridian Source 550 HR & Payroll centralized database of over 156 tables for a distributed user environment of five Divisions in three states covering 1600 employees. Developed the backup and recovery plan to a remote server and Tape off loading for redundant data recovery.
