Duke Energy is considering revamping its business intelligence (BI), information management (IM) and reporting solutions to provide a collated, cohesive and coherent view of various business critical information solutions (e.g. position reporting, P&L reporting, risk analysis, performance management, portfolio management, trend analysis, risk management, profitability analysis, cash flow forecasting and variance analysis, gross margin analysis, etc.) to its business, by leveraging and/or consolidating data from disparate systems into an enterprise coherent view that represents the business model.
As part of the initiative, we did an eight (10) week Trading Information Management Master Plan exercise in conjunction with key business and IT personnel from Duke Energy. This plan comprised of a series of strategy sessions with IT SMEs and business management, followed by detailed benefits and gap analysis workshops with key SMEs from the relevant business groups in Charlotte (Regulated businesses) and Cincinnati (Unregulated businesses).
