Job Duties/project description
She has been a contract worker for us for the last few months and we do want to offer her a FT position but she is commuting from all the way from Tacoma and we know she’s not happy with the commute as well as a couple of other factors. We work 12 hour shifts and between that and the commute it's a 16 hour day for Billie. Multicare is not meeting her halfway and although she is a very valuable employee, she isn't happy here and looking for consistency, so we understand why she would be looking elsewhere.
Billie and I interact constantly when we're working on the same shift and I oversee her directly during this time. She is SO wonderful and I have no complaints what so ever in regards to her on both a professional and personal level.
Work Quality and Quantity
I've been a MA myself before this, so I know what make up a great Medical Assistant and she would definitely fall within that category! She doesn’t require supervision as I know she's getting everything done and would have no complaints from myself nor the patients.
We're an urgent care clinic so patient flow is HUGE and the clinic can get very busy as its first come first serve basis. She has to do insurance and registration on top of everything else as well and is a contributing member through the entire cycle of the patient visit. We’re required to stand the entire shift (12 hours) and we can see up to 25+ patients a day, so the physical demand is large. Our clinic doesn’t see chronic issues, so if people come in with the same problems, we also have to set them up with primary care so she has to be knowledgeable of that process.
Strengths and Abilities
We use 100% EPIC as an EMR system. She is required to utilize epic about 75% of the day as we focus on this system for all documentation purposes
Two of her tope strengths would be 1) diligent worker; if she has a task in front of her she will do whatever it takes to get it done and she even helps me complete my tasks occasionally! 2) Assisting others; Billie always makes sure to assist as much as possible on either the patient side or the team side.
Initiative, Cooperation, and Communication
She is definitely a go-getter and is always someone who is very helpful to everyone! We're a brand new clinic so any job in this clinic is a learning curve at this point but she is still performing highly despite everyone not necessarily knowing what they're doing. She doesn't “wing” things and has no problem asking for help in order to get a job done.
We have some very interesting people that we work with here and she's held her own very well. Billie does great with essentially everyone she works with and some people are more efficient that she works with than other's but picks up the slack as needed and performs above and beyond the more efficient folks as well.
Attendance/Reliability
Always early if anything (by an hour and half)
Areas for Improvement
Documenting correct medications in EPIC correctly
Additional Comments
"I would, from the bottom of my heart, would hope she would find a wonderful place to work as she is very deserving of this!"
