Aurora Health Care – Program Manager & Business Consultant (2016 – Present)

Assigned to the Director of Nursing in the role of project manager for the implementation of a Nurse Call system at 13 locations throughout the state, with a budget in excess of $20m. In addition the role required working with nursing to align their project portfolio with the strategic plan and improve project governance.

MogsfDesign LLC – Managing Director (2015 – Present)

Working within the PMO of a local health care provider, on a portfolio of projects varying in size from $50,000 to $5m. Introduced the team to the use of some basic agile /lean concepts including daily stand ups and the Kanban board.

Northwestern Mutual, I.T. Deputy Resource Director and Manager (2008 – 2015)

Managed team of 20 project managers and 50 contract staff, both on and off-shore based, across functional IT teams and business areas including; Insurance Operations, Human Resources, Facilities Operations, Communications and Compliance. Projects typically included efficiency improvements to the Insurance Operations area, new product development and implementation of vendor solutions. The portfolio involved the delivery of in excess of $30m in large corporate & small projects.

The team was responsible for the development and governance of project management and QA methodologies for the company.

Worked directly with vendors both domestically and off-shore, in acquiring contract staff, as well as the outsourcing of a number of projects.

Worked with peers in developing processes; including talent acquisition, promotions and performance management.

Used techniques from earlier staff augmentation career to establish and chair the resource planning meetings to coordinate and enhance staff utilization and collaboration.

As part of a large recruiting drive, acted as primary recruiter for project management. Carried out in excess of 60 interviews in 2015 (Jan-Aug) hiring 25 staff.

Compuware Corporation (1998 – 2008)

Account Manager

As acting regional manager in Charlotte, developed new accounts including Compass Group, one of the largest international employers. In addition set up a number of partnerships with minority organizations to gain better access to a broader marketplace. Managed outsourcing, contacts and financial management of the branch.

Proven ability in negotiations and client relationships as demonstrated by successfully managing a number of large financial accounts including Northwestern Mutual, Bank of America, and Wachovia.

Placed 65 billing consultants on assignment, which was the highest number in the Milwaukee branch for 3 consecutive years, bringing in revenue of $7m per annum.

Received recognition for outstanding sales performance and qualified in the top 50 Account Managers globally, which resulted in an invitation to the 20th annual meeting of the “One Hundred Percent Club” in Maui.

Successfully managed the negotiation for preferred vendor status and contracts. This contract earned the Milwaukee branch approximately $15m in revenue/annum.

Prepared RFI and RFP for training for a major system implementation at Northwestern Mutual. Developed an innovated presentation style to the client, resulting in the bid being successful, and marked the first time Compuware had won a contract other than staffing augmentation. The initial phase being worth $500K.

Technical Resource Manager

Defined training and career development strategy for the Quality Assurance (QA) group.

Created resource plan to meet branch overall sales and growth strategy as well as defining recruiting profile. Interviewed and screened all potential new hires.

Introduced a requirement for all QA staff to obtain membership to the “American Society for Quality” and the project leads to obtain membership to the “Project Management Institute”. Very high level of participation from the team of 50. Sold on the idea that it would make them much more marketable.

Collaborated and mentored peer group to identify business opportunities, and develop account sales plans.

Relationship Manager

Provided support to client’s project managers to establish our company’s added value as a differentiator to our competitors.

Worked with sales team to identify and qualify opportunities, as well as deputizing for sales in the closing of opportunities.

Project Manager

Managed quality assurance and implementation phases of a system to support the Radiology department of a large healthcare provider (Aurora). In addition supported the early phases of the upgrade to the critical system. At the time the relationship between the client and the IS group was strained. Using strong interpersonal skills was able to develop a strong rapport with the client and address the challenges. Managed to get everyone on-board, created focus on the key issues and resolve the conflict.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Royal Bank of Scotland (UK) – Management Consultant (1997 - 1998)

•Acted as liaison between the business and the IT department to create a new retail bank. The focus was largely system and user acceptance testing for back office and call center systems. Successfully implemented the systems which supported the launch of checking, saving and credit card accounts.

•Executed the vendor evaluation for a new Human Resource System, and identified PeopleSoft as the preferred vendor.

Management Systems Unit (Malta) (1993 – 1997)

Relationship Manager

•Managed the portfolio of projects for the Maltese Police Force. Liaison to the Permanent Secretary to the Office of the Prime Minister, and the Commissioner of Police. This included the design, development and implementation of a command and control police system, installed at 60 police stations with a project budget of $15m. Upgraded the police citation system developing an innovative solution resulting in a saving of $3m.

•Managed the implementation of a system to support the Law Courts of Malta.

•Managed the design, development and implementation of new human resources system for the Government of Malta.

Business Analyst

•Created business requirements for social security and pension systems.

McDonnell Douglas Information Systems (UK) - Project Manager (1990 – 1993)

•Analyzed and designed GIS applications to support a client’s land referencing business. The most significant project was the land referencing for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link.

•Analyzed and designed police applications for a number of UK police forces.

•Provided consulting services to a number of major clients including British Aerospace, British Airways and BAA.

Taylor Woodrow (UK) – Business Analyst (1988 – 1990)

•Developed requirements for a number of business applications to support the field as well as a number of home office systems; including time and expense billing, cash flow forecasting.

•Worked with corporate planning to identify potential acquisition targets in preparation for the deregulation of the Water Industry. Reported findings and recommendations to the executive committee.
