Research Experience

University of Texas at Dallas. Taylor Ware Lab

Spring 2017-current. Designing nerve stimulator housing to allow easier installation during surgical procedure. Design based on usage of specific bilayers of polymers which change shape under specific conditions. While overall device design is done collaboratively with another lab, testing and gathering data is independent before communicating with group.

University of Texas at Austin. Jon Pierce-Shimomura Lab

Summer 2014 and 2015. Worked with C. elegans nematodes to investigate genes capable of suppressing effects of muscular dystrophy and investigating mechanics of cellular apoptosis in specific neurons. Experience with use of PCR technology for DNA amplification.

Case Firearms Club

Jan 2013 – May 2016 Taught students about safety and basic operation of firearms. Managed and coordinated range trips on a monthly basis. Began as Safety Officer and moved up to President by final year.

Case Emergency Medical Service

Jan 2014 – Apr 2016 Conducted 8-12 hour shifts with other members for treating and transporting Case Western students to nearby hospitals. Duties also included regularly inspecting ambulance supplies and equipment.

Boy Scouts of America- Eagle Scout (earned 2011)

Learned variety of scouting skills including leadership, first aid, citizenship, and emergency preparation. Taught younger scouts these skills and lead through a variety of scout officer positions.
