REPRENTATIVE PROJECTS

Cretan Windmill Fall 2016 Continue

Made working prototype of six blades Cretan windmill with the use of bicycle wheel & Aleko generator.

Designed in SolidWorks. Currently performing experiments and documenting readings for electricity generation.

Linear Optimal Control of Inverted Pendulum on Cart with Controller, LQR and Observer Design Fall 2016

Designed Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR), Controller and observer with MATLAB.

Calculations of Inverted Pendulum Derivation, Analysis of Plant, Transfer Function

Elevating Lift Summer 2016

Designed Elevating lift to store the old projects above the ceiling. Calculated number of proper bolts which can withstand the desired amount of load. Found out proper drill tools to drill through concrete and steel as the ceiling was made of both layers.

Calculated mechanical power, Torque and lifting capacity. Fixed unique pulley system which can be rotated manually with the help of the winding crank.

Aquaponics at El Arca Spring 2016

Filtration problem in aquaponics at El Arca the mobility center for adults. Repaired the pump and put new plants with clean water.

Fixed problem with the use of 55 Gallon Bucket join with the fish tank and design Swirl & Gravity filters which is connect with the pump. Put the mechanical timer of fixed time with the pump, fresh water starts going to the tank, will go to the bucket through the mechanical swirl filter and the dirty water will go to the bucket and drained.

Tree Hugger Winter 2016

Designed tree hugger on the ladder with the use of wooden blocks, cotton rope, steel hinges, steel U bolt, gate latch. For two arms required eight inch long six wooden blocks. Attached gate latch at the end of both arms.

U bolt fixed at the bottom of the block to support rope. Because of inward force acting on arms, it will automatically lock the arms of the hugger when the rope is pulled.

Helmet Testing (Forensic) Fall 2015

Compared the effects or degree of injury with or without the helmet on the head of a victim. Calculated the brain injury criterion and head injury criterion for both helmeted and unhelmet case.

With the use of experiment data, graphs of resultant acceleration and angular acceleration were plotted against time, for both cases. Helmet reduced the probability of brain injury by 46% and head injury by 92.1%.

Wheelchair For handicapped Fall 2015

Designed wheel chair for kids to play on playground slides. Developed design of Wheelchair using SolidWorks

Choose material with the use of Ansys and did calculations of different speed and friction for more safety.

Pyrolysis of Algae and analysis of their yield product June 2014 to May 2015

Developed bio-oil from the algae with the use of pyrolysis process and laboratory analysis of bio-oil.

Pyrolysis is a thermochemical decomposition of organic material at elevated temperatures in the absence of oxygen.
