Responsibilities

Under general supervision, performs a variety of general support duties for the laboratory department, including receptionist and secretarial support, admission activities, insurance verification, order entry processing and medical record processing. Monitors insurance and test ordering information for compliance and enters test orders into the computer. May perform phlebotomy and/or specimen processing duties, (including reference lab samples), basic point of care testing, and special procedures such as sweat collections. Setup culture plates with spinal fluid and urine, collecting and preparing specimens of body fluids and tissues for laboratory testing.
