The Commercial Banking Fraud solution is designed to monitor and protect fraudulent activity perpetrated against business entities, by analysing commercial banking transaction activity, with a particular focus on wire transfers, ACH payment activity, and other forms of monetary transfers.
The solution is designed to handle the high transactional volumes of businesses that may initiate thousands of payments on a daily basis, as well as the high complexity of commercial payments that may originate via multiple systems, submitted via batch files or real-time feeds, which require an in-depth understanding of very specific transactional data formats. In addition, the solution is capable of monitoring business activity initiated from online commercial portals by authorized users on behalf of a company entity, thereby protecting from the proliferating threat of online fraud attacks perpetrated against businesses using sophisticated malware technology.
The solution uses analytical models to calculate multiple complex key indicators and compute an overall fraud risk score. These key indicators are derived from experience that Actimize has obtained by analysing both legitimate and fraudulent activity behaviour of commercial entities in a wholesale, treasury and cash management banking environment across our customer base. The overall impact of the indicators is reflected in a total score that is calculated for each transaction and that can be used as criteria to trigger an alert, based on rules authored by fraud analysts.
Alerts are distributed to the Actimize Risk Case Manager and contain transactional history information for the entity in question as well as information about related prior alerts and reference data about the commercial entity being monitored. Depending on the nature of an alert, the system is able to route alerts to multiple queues and users. The alerts generated by the system display critical information such as details of specific scenarios that triggered the alert, the overall context of the user’s and main entity’s activity and historical transactions. This combination provides a rich information context to aid the investigation process. Alert resolution in RCM provides a self-learning feedback loop into model analytics and automatically updates high-focus entity lists maintained within the solution, such as high-focus devices, payees, etc
