EDUCATION

TheGeorge Washington University, Washington DC August 2012 – May 2016

Bachelor of Science in Physics and Biomedical Engineering, Focus on Electronics, GPA3.37

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Programming C/C++, MATLAB, and LabVIEW. Software Orcad, SolidWorks, Comsol, Microsoft Office, Windows OS, Linux OS. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Hand/Power Tools, Fluent Spanish

WORK EXPERIENCE

Ventana Medical Systems, Inc. Test Technician (Aug 2016 – Present):

Utilized hand and automated tools to assemble company products at the subassembly level following detailed CAD/electrical schematics.

Tested company products for conformance to specifications and standards following written work procedures and identified nonconformance in piece parts, assemblies and test results.

Employed test equipment including voltmeter, precision weight scales, and micro test slides.

Sigma Technologies International Internship (May 2015 – August 2015):

Processed polymer multi-layer (PML) capacitors using etching and dry etching (ashing) methods as well as arc spraying of terminations.

Examined processed capacitors under a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to observe the quality of the capacitors and tested the capacitors by measuring the capacitance, ESR, and dissipation factors using an ESR meter while documenting the results.

Conducted research on the degradation of PML capacitors undergoing thermal shock cycles by measuring the capacitance, ESR, and dissipation factors and presented a report to the management staff.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Nuclear Physics Undergraduate Research Assistant (September 2013 – May 2015):

Utilized CERN Root and Geant4 C++ based software under Linux platform to identify and reconstruct physical events from particle tracking data.

Presented undergraduate thesis on the comparison of the overall particle reconstruction efficiency of two analysis frameworks both based on CERN Root software.

BME Undergraduate Research Assistant (September 2014 – May 2016):

Applied texture image analysis methods to find regions of interest in thermal images with the goal of finding an alternative approach to breast cancer diagnostics.

Developed MATLAB software to automatically analyze and extract texture characteristics such as the coarseness or smoothness of an image.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Electrical Engineering Capstone Project, Thermal Electric Generator (January 2015 – May 2016):

Worked in a group of three to design and build a sunlight-to-electricity converter.

Utilized Comsol multiphysics software to simulate heat transfer problem and optimize the geometry of the heat pipes and heat sink to transfer the maximum heat and create the greatest temperature difference.

Designed mechanical drawings of component using SolidWorks and assessed sub-component using temperature probe and voltmeter.

BME Lab Assignment, Heart Rate Analyzer with LabVIEW (October 2015 – December 2015):

Worked in a group of four to design and build a heart rate analyzing device.

Wrote LabVIEW program to read and sample amplified EKG signal as well as filter any noise.

Successfully determined the heart rate from the sampled data and indicated whether the patient was experiencing an abnormal or normal heart rate.
