EXPERIENCE

SENIOR TECHNOLOGY ENGINEER- LEAD QA ENGINEER TIME WARNER CABLE INC.

MAY 2005 – PRESENT

Major Projects and Accomplishments:

Adelphia/Comcast Migration: Managed cross-function team responsible for the migration of Adelphia Cable customers to TWC services, network and infrastructure. Migrated more than 30K subscriber accounts with email, phone and cable with no service impact.

TWC Go It Alone: Lead Test Engineer for both development and UAT test efforts for TWC to become its own CLEC (Competitive Local Exchange Carrier). The quick and stable delivery of the project led to a quarterly savings of more than 30 mil dollars for the company.

DPOM to BPS Migration: Organized and implemented requirements discovery process and product testing of migration of TWC phone subscribers from a legacy Oracle9i order management system, to an 11g, WebLogic based, distributed system. BPS became the bedrock of all provisioning for high-speed data and phone service at Time Warner Cable. I was recognized by senior executives for my diligence and devotion in completing testing on time and on budget.

Key Contributions:

Lead Test Engineer for all major initiatives and software releases in Systems Engineering and the Advanced Technology Group for more than 10 years. Responsible for standards and documentation of software testing and training of others on the technical staff. As a valued member of the systems engineering group, I led the test effort for the release of Time Warner Cable’s Fiber to the Home solution, migration of TWC phone services to a Session Initiation Protocol system (SIP), and deployment of TWC Maxx, a service to provide upgraded high speed internet service to Time Warner Cable customers. I was identified as the go to person and technical resource by my peers, as well as by others in the company.

Developed over 4000 automated and manual test cases using Parasoft Development Test Plat-form to validate provisioning workflows in Time Warner Cable’s Broadband Provisioning System (BPS). This system is responsible for all phone and high-speed data provisioning in TWC and Bright House Networks. Automated and manual test case development included soup to nuts verification of code written in Java, Java EJB, Oracle SOA, and backend XML to support customer-facing APIs. Created validation scripts using Java, Xpath, and SQL statements to verify response to schema adherence, and service end-state in downstream systems.

Tracked, managed and reported defects from Parasoft SOATest automation run using Atlassian JIRA. Defects were socialized with the development team and project stakeholders to gauge impact and veracity of test outcomes.

Defined and designed a performance test suite using LoadRunner to gauge system throughput and graceful recovery of services in the event of a catastrophic failure. This allowed the System Engineering group to provide thresholds to the business and also to identify key areas where improvements could be made to code or hardware to limit system degradation.

Managed processes and standards to aid the System Engineering team in the transition from a Waterfall to an Agile test and development organization. This helped to streamline the integration between QA and development teams, leading to faster sprint cycles and time to market reduction.

Participated as scrum master and contributor to Agile test and development team. As scrum master, I balanced and managed multiple projects and work assignments of other testers by prioritizing test cases, ensuring proper accountability for each functional area, and assigning work based on strengths and core competences of each tester.

Identified and translated business and design goals into usable products by creating test plans and new test cases for each product release. Organized test plan reviews with all project stakeholders to ensure that testing cycle is in line with project timelines and expectations.

Participated and contributed to design and code reviews to evaluate technology and provide technical direction for product testing by outside vendors, in house integration teams and software development staff. Identified and recommended where new technologies or automation may be incorporated in order to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

SR. DATABASE ENGINEER VERISIGN INC.

JANUARY 1998-MAY 2005

Major Projects and Accomplishments:

Corporate Domain Reconciliation: Engineered a process to compile a list of domains names owned by VeriSign and its subsidiaries to determine if VeriSign should maintain corporate ownership or allow the domain registrations to lapse. This helped the company identify highly sensitive domains that were in danger of being deleted from the registry, causing a significant outage. This process of monthly reconciliation was extended as a value-add to the Partner Management Organization that maintained relationships with large companies such as, Microsoft, Nissan, Yahoo, and Exxon-Mobile. A monthly accounting report was generated for each company giving them insight on all corporate domains, saving them from embarrassing outages.

VeriSign Global Registry Divestiture: Managed cross-functional team responsible for training engineering and other technical staff during the divestiture of the .COM and .NET Registry from Network Solutions to VeriSign. Created an on-line technical support manual to aid developers and staff with trouble-shooting issues. Played a pivotal role in the success and smooth transition of both software and hardware components to a new facility.

Key Contributions:

Managed enterprise data audits, cleansing and data warehouse testing using SQL and custom Oracle stored procedures to provide operational analysis and reporting support to internal departments relying heavily on accurate data from the data warehouse.

Created customized reports using PERL and C++ to extract data from system log files in order to monitor order flow activity. These reports allowed managers and developers to identify system inefficiencies and opportunities to augment business processes.
