Department representative on 2016 FEMA evaluated ingestion pathway exercise for Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant, ‘Mohawk Cresting’ flood and Nine Mile Point Nuclear Power Plant exercises.
Worked with Homeland Security staff on ESF 6,8 & 11 planning to integrate NYSDAM into the new system.
Operated within ESF 6 & 11 during FEMA Gotham Shield 2017 & R.E.Ginna Nuclear Plant exercises.
NYSDAM Representative to FEMA ‘Gotham Shield’ Improvised Nuclear Device exercise 2016-17.
Advise the Department Executive on reports from Homeland Security on external safety issues.
NYSDAM OH&S coordinator bringing training to the department such as active shooter, workplace violence prevention, office & home emergency preparedness, workplace vigilance as well as others.
Represented NYSDAM Executive at meetings such as MAC and Senior Advisory Meetings reporting back information relevant to NYSDAM.
Support NYSDAM personnel at the NY State Fair including updating of the COOP, CEMP and Emergency surge Plans. Worked to coordinate services with State Fair Emergency Coordinator. Reviewed, Updated and suggested major changes to NYSDAM COOP and Emergency Response Plans.
Member NYS radiological monitoring team conducting radiation surveys and collecting representative samples of milk, water, soil, vegetation and produce at a local farms when required.
Created a Memorandum of Understanding with ARC so that the NYS Fairground can be used by ARC and partners during emergencies.
Coordinate and disseminate information during emergency events to community, County and State partners. Also created reports for NYS Executive and NYS Senate leaders.
NYSDAM representative at State Emergency Operations Center during exercises and alerts.
Maintained contacts with partners like:- Cornell Cooperative Extension, Red Cross, US Dept. of Agriculture as well as County groups, Emergency Managers and NYS Farmers. Created new contacts in other States dealing with Agricultural problems for NYSDAM executives.
Department Liaison with Department of Health and Department of Environmental Conservation on radiation training, prevention and nuclear emergency preparedness.
Department Chair on NYS Drought Monitoring Task Force.
