Department of Transportation/Department of Education, Washington, D.C. 2011-

Present

Directly responsible for analyzing DOT/FTA programs and policies, assisting

with the creation of the annual budget request for the Office of Management

and Budget, and the budget justification for Congress. Responsible for

maintaining the $65 million annual salary budget for the Federal Transit

Administration. Responsible for executing the Federal Transit

Administration's security process in assigning position sensitivity and

national security requirements for positions, assigning required background

checks, and maintaining PIV card procedures. Provided oversight of internal

financial audits of administrative expense and personnel procedures. In the

Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE) at the Department of Education

responsibilities have included: working on policy initiatives to increase

college graduation rates, devising programs and initiatives to increase

military and veteran educational opportunities, creating a symposium of

higher education and business leaders to develop innovations in

postsecondary learning, and working directly with higher education and

business leaders on implementing innovations in learning. As a Presidential

Management Fellowship (PMF) Program Fellow, also responsible for completing

a rotation with a Congressional Committee and courses with the Government

Affairs Institute at Georgetown University.

TRAINING and LOGISTICS CHIEF PETTY OFFICER, United States Navy, CA, 2002-

Present

Directed the supply and logistics functions for over 500 personnel,

including budgeting, contracting, staff supervision and evaluation, and

created operational procedures for command structure financial structure

while deployed. Provided auditing oversight of Navy Reserve Center Supply

Department. Designed and implemented a training program for the development

of over 500 personnel while mobilized in Kuwait that led to a 42% increase

in promotion and retention. Established an off-duty educational services

program for over 500 personnel that led to the successful completion of 326

college level courses and 157 certifications and a 45% increase in

efficiency and certification requirements.

GENERAL MANAGER, CNL Restaurant Group, CA, 2005-2011

Responsible for the supervision and development of 140 staff and 7

managers. Created budget while managing the P&L statement report and

submission. Developed marketing plan and increased sales by 22% while

increasing profitability by 32% on annual sales of $8.5 million.

Streamlined recruitment, training, and development of staff to increase

performance while decreasing staff turnover by 42%. Revamped the

recruitment and interview process, and streamlined new hire orientations

and training and development for MacArthur Park in Palo Alto, CA, leading

to 45% lower staff turnover. Created the HR processes and procedures, and

wrote the training manuals for five organizations including Sam's Chowder

House in Half Moon Bay, CA and Adagia in Berkeley, CA.

Responsible for the supervision and development of 230 staff and 9

managers. Created budget while managing P&L reporting requirements.

Developed marketing plan for special events department that increased event

sales by 28% while increasing profitability for the department on annual

sales of $19.5 million. Streamlined recruitment, training, and development

of staff to increase performance while decreasing staff turnover by 36% in

three departments under direct control. Developed and implemented an on-

going training program that increased hourly staff retention by 35%,

promotions by 25% and increased efficiency by 30%. As a result this program

was implemented by all 47 Dave & Buster's locations. Created a scheduling

matrix and a position metrics that increased job placement by skill set by

38% and decreased overall staffing cost by 22%.
