Statement: I am a very outgoing, energetic and highly motivated individual with

excellent customer service skills.

My previous experience has equipped me with the ability to remain calm

and resolve difficult situations in a quick and appropriate manner. I

work well in a team environment, bringing enthusiasm to a group. I

also work well individually and can use my own initiative to solve

problems as and when required. Picking up new skills is an enjoyable

learning experience for me, allowing me to develop quickly and thrive

Having had my efforts commended on many occasions and quickly learned

the skills to meet customers needs on tills I was then put into my own

department which consisted of working closely with the customers and

helping them find and advise clothing choices. I was then fully

trained on customer service desk to deal with the returns and

complaints lodged from customers, this meant keeping calm and

explaining company policy to customers and finding a suitable solution

or compromise which upheld not only company policy but met customer

needs whenever possible. As I naturally gravitated and excelled in the

ladies department before I came onto customer service my employer

thought it appropriate that I would be suited in this area of the

department as I had patience for customers who raised problems and

worked well with resolving those issues, my upmost goal was to provide

excellent customer service and make sure customers left the store

satisfied. I deal with many returns during the weekend as it is one of

the busiest time of the week for customers, I work well and

efficiently under pressure as the customer service desk can become

busy and customers can get frustrated with the size of the que so it

is my job to maintain customer service but also crucially to keep the

que moving, this is a task which I perform well and other members of

staff consistently rely on me to do so. Due to this high amount of

experience in not only the running of a department store but in

providing excellent customer service I believe I would be more than

suited to any high stress work environment where dealing with

customers face to face is crucial to the success to the business.

My course at college has a wide range of different subject,

psychology, sociology, economics, politics, history, research

methods and research issues. Social Science focuses on the

society in which we live in and the process in the society and

teaches you different theorists in each subject history and

politics is more about the history and the past. Social science

helps me understand people better and makes you think about

things you would have never have even recognised or thought of.

Psychology helped me understand the society and how the society

works and was very helpful with the human body and different

thought process in the body and many schools of thought

(theorists) Sociology gave me a better understanding of the

families and the structures of families and different people who

believe in different things. Social science has been a great

opportunity for me as I have learned things which I never even

knew existed. In the course I had to work in groups to discuss

the subject and had to do group presentations which everyone had

to work together, and I feel that I work well in a group and you

have to always make sure everyone understand what is being

asked. In my own time I would have to work with myself and not

in a group for my personal exams and I feel that I am also good

at studying and I have a good method in which I use to study.
