WORK EXPERIENCE:

May 2011 – August 2012 Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, Fort Belvoir, VA

Supervisor Anatomic Pathology

Directed and coordinated all activities of the laboratory, to include

supervision and training of nine technicians and administrative personnel.

Created new procedural manuals and QA forms in support of the transition

to a new anatomic pathology laboratory, and led planning and set-up

efforts for the new facility. Represented anatomic pathology at the

monthly blood utilization committee meetings. Gave anatomic pathology

presentation as part of monthly briefings for incoming hospital staff.

Pathology Service to include immunohistochemistry, special stains,

workflow within the histology laboratory. Wrote Standard Operating

Procedure manuals in accordance with established regulatory standards.

human tissue; this involved fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy,

and routine staining. Cut frozen sections. Performed pathology

transcription. Maintained safety records. Assisted with preparations for

regulatory inspections, to include writing Standard Operating Procedures.

April 1999 – December 2004 Naval Medical Center San Diego, San Diego, CA

Histologist

Served as the primary special stains technician in the histopathology
