Summary:
In depth knowledge and seven years of research experience as a M.Sc. and PhD student in the field of protein purification, molecular biology, cell biology, high-throughput screening and drug development. Identified and characterized small molecular inhibitors of the receptor tyrosine kinase pathway and evaluated them both in vitro and in vivo to determine their potential for use in cancer therapy.

Research Experience:
1. From 2008 to 2013 (March) worked as a PhD student on the project entitled “Development of novel small-molecule inhibitors targeting the HGF/MET pathway” at Max-Delbruck Center for Molecular Medicine, Berlin-Germany.
2. From 2007 to 2008 worked as a JRF on the project entitled “Development of novel nanoparticle based transfection reagents for the efficient delivery of bioactive molecules” at Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB)-New Delhi, India.
3. From 2005 to 2007 worked on two projects entitled “Prokaryotic expression, purification and antifungal activity analysis of napin mutant of Momordica charantia towards development of bioactive oligopeptides” and “Cloning and expression of prepronapin of Momordica charantia” as part of M.Sc. thesis at SBT, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)-New Delhi, India.
Technical Expertise:
1. Isolation, qualitative and quantitative estimation of RNA/DNA, cloning and side directed mutagenesis.
2. Optimization of expression of recombinant proteins in bacteria, mammalian cells and insect cells and subsequent purification of recombinant proteins by affinity and gel exclusion chromatography with the help of FPLC and HPLC.
3. Biochemical and biophysical characterization of purified proteins.
4. Development and standardization of methods like ELISA, AlphaScreen, FRET and HTRF assays to perform high-throughput screenings with compound libraries for inhibitor identification.
5. Validation and optimization of lid compounds using various techniques including FACS, microarrays, fluorescent and confocal microscopies.
6. Adequate experience of cell physiology analysis and cell sorting on the basis of different cell surface biomarkers and fluorescent protein expression by FACS.
7. Designing, development and validation of method protocols for in vitro bioassays as per different guidelines (ICH and USP).
8. Adequate knowledge of software used in cell and molecular biology works.

2. Secured position in top 100 in the CSIR-JRF exam conducted by Govt. of India to provide fellowship for research in India.
3. Qualified the GATE-2006 (Graduate aptitude test) conducted by IITs.
