• Reengineered the operations, consolidated the facilities, improved outsourcing,
directed SKU rationalizations, and productivity improvements.

Plant Manager
Managed a manufacturing plant located in Juarez, MX with 1,400 employees. The plant
manufactured carbon monoxide and smoke detectors and was completely vertically
integrated from plastic injection molding, automated electronic board insertion,
assembly and electronic testing.
• Conceived and Implemented 100% cell manufacturing concept.
• Improved process productivity and space utilization more than 40%.
• Eliminated all backlog orders and current repair inventories from 800K to50K unit
boards. .

1994
Operations General Manager - El Paso / Juarez (1991 - 1994)
Managed three physical plant facilities (280,000 Sq. Ft.), manufacturing automotive
restrain systems. Employing 1,870 hourly and 140 salary employees. Annual revenues
were $160MM with a budget of $30MM.
• Developed and implemented Just-In-Time (JIT) operations, Statistical Process Control
(SPC), Total
Quality Management and Integrated Work Centers (IWC), using the pull system, poka-
yoke, and visual factory techniques (lean manufacturing) to eliminate the need for 2
facilities in the US.
• Relocated quality and product engineering support from the US to Mexico eliminating
excessive expenses and penalties and reducing cycle times from 2 weeks to 3 days.
• Increased annual sales from $89MM to $160MM from 1991
through 1993.
Plant Manager - Juarez, MX. (1982 - 1991)
Directed two automotive plants producing seat belts retractors and center seat
assemblies.
• Reduced cost of quality more than 100% achieving 200 PPM's at customer delivery.
• Nominated for the Penta-Star in 1990 and 1991 (Maximum Quality Achievement
Award).
• Awarded the Chrysler Quality Excellence Award (QE) for three consecutive years
(1989, 1990 & 1991).
• Launched new processes like E-coat painting, stamping and Air bags manufacturing.
