back owed Medicaid funds in one 50 bed facility in first month.

150 bed LTC facility with full direction of staff, marketing of census; opened a

sub-acute hospital unit, relocation due to marriage to the Austin, Texas area in

January of 2009 nearer to husband’s family.

Deficiency free facility, wide variety of staff, and residents in population. Created

training programs to facilitate staff working in more than one unit to reduce

duplication of resources. Facilitated team building and close work between

nursing staff and therapy groups achieving referrals and increased resources.

Commonwealth of Virginia Psychiatric Forensics Project

Associate HOSPITAL DIRECTOR (maximum security prison pretrial forensics)

A contract position due to “unlawful deaths” of in-patient psychiatric state

facilities clients that were classified in pretrial forensics category. Clients were

charged with felony crimes and had extensive and or life long history of severe

psychiatric disorders as well as medical issues. DOJ mandated project. Designed

nursing care to be “least restrictive first” to meet the humane needs of this special

population who were incarcerated yet met the severe criteria of extreme mental

diagnostics. Interface with state psychiatric officials and revision of policy and

procedure to implement and maintain such care throughout all state mental

hospitals.

Metropolitan Hospital, Richmond, VA (May 1997 to October 1997)

Acute care insurance reviews, and state mandated as well as court remanded

mental health clients and acute care medical for a general hospital. Private sector

months of review. ICD-9 coding, McKesson soft-ware, and telephonic review

along with co-insurer eligibility and Medicaid eligibility. 95.9% review on denied

claims even to physician review. Processed 80% higher reviews with

documentation on each review, then all nurse reviewers combined.
