Technical Publications Manager, Localization
Part of team of 3, working with product managers to create in-box
documentation (Getting Started Guide, Warranty, and Safety Guide) and
online user guides. Personally head up localization effort including
managing budget. Collaborate with outside translation company to deliver
products in 21+ languages around the world. Write content and create page
layout based on company's brand guidelines. Produce Quick Start Guide with
objective of getting end-user up and running by obtaining spec from UI
designers or asking questions of engineering team or program managers.
Also test equipment as a QA check. Work with technical support team to
identify major issues with products and ensure they are addressed in the
Getting Started guide. Check with Regulatory and Compliance department to
confirm product passes regulations needed to be sold in various countries.
