ACADEMIC PROJECT

. TITLE : "Power Flow Management using FACTS

controllers" in Power System Studies (Real Time) at Tamil Nadu

Electricity Board, Chennai.

. DESCRIPTION: In our project, a sample IEEE 6-bus system, IEEE 14-

bus system, Indian power utility 30-bus systems are taken for

analysis. Our project makes control of overloaded and underutilized

transmission line in real power system. We used "TCSC" FACTS

controlled for regulating the power flow in the overloaded and

underutilized transmission line by varying the reactance of the

respective transmission lines such that the power flow is brought

within the thermal capacity during various contingencies. PSO

algorithm is used for tuning the "TCSC" Controller, so the value of

TCSC controller using required number of iterations.
