NAVTEQ is the leading global provider of maps, traffic and location data

(digital location content) enabling navigation, location-based services and

mobile advertising around the world. The database environment consists of

9i, 10g, 11g RAC databases. In this position I am responsible for

supporting development, QA and production databases.

Responsibilities and accomplishments:

. Support of Production OLTP and large OLAP data warehouses (15 TB).

. Built and migrated 9i Probe data warehouse to 11g.

Database Administrator, Shared Services (2007 - 2009)

GSI Commerce is one of the leading e-commerce solution providers including

over 60 web stores for companies like Ralph Lauren, Toys R Us, NFL, MLB,

PBS. This position focused on previously ignored internal infrastructure.

In this position I was responsible for the development, test and uat

databases in a fast paced, highly parallel development environment. I

rebuilt the existing databases and set up the necessary shell scripts and

specified operating procedures these environments lacked. Much of my focus

was on process improvement to reduce environmental issues. The number of

databases grew from 8 to over 30 as we built out more environments.

. Managed an SLA for all development databases that included 24/7 support

. Reengineered the web store development database tier to facilitate highly

parallel development while reducing resource requirement from six

databases to one

. Developed and maintained a set of tools to dynamically manage the

development schemas to support the various data model changes in rapid

release cycles

. Managed communications and process of removing depreciated development

schemas

. Eased release process by creating automated reports to identify release-

specific DDL changes
