PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
Over 2+yrs of IT experience that includes development of ETL in Informatica
Power Center 8.1/9.
Responsible for Extraction, Transformation and Loading of data from
multiple sources into Data Warehouse.
Proven experience in designing of Data warehouse and Data marts.
Directly responsible for Extraction, Cleansing, Transformation and Loading
of data from multiple feeds and sources into Data Warehouse.
2+ years of ETL experience in developing ETL Mappings using Informatica
Power Center 8/9 with client tools like Designer (Source Analyzer, Target
designer, Mapping designer, Mapplet Designer, Transformation Developer),
Repository Manager, and Workflow Manager & Workflow Monitor.
Extensively worked in creating Mappings using Informatica Designer and
processing tasks using Workflow Manager to configure data flows from
multiple sources (flat files, XML files,Oracle) to targets persistent data
stores.
Excellent knowledge and experience in configuring connections to various
sources and creating source to target mapping (SCD mappings), edit rules
and validation and transformations.
Implemented complex SQL query overrides in Source qualifier transformation,
which reduced unwanted data to be processed, thereby increasing the data
processing speed.
Reduced the number of lookup transformation used in the mappings, by
joining all the lookup tables and giving a query over rides in lookup
transformation.
Performed performance tuning techniques like reducing the number of
transformations used in the mapping, using unconnected lookup when multiple
values has to be returned from the same table, performing joins at the
source level (homogenous sources) instead of using joiner transformation
etc.
Dynamically pulled the data using transformations like Router
transformation, Source Qualifier, Mapping Variable and Parameters, Look Up
transformation, Update Strategy in order to pull and update the data from
the legacy database to Data Warehouse at the time of getting data from
number of source tables and updating the data in those tables.
Knowledge in configuring connections to various sources and creating source
to target mapping (SCD1, SCD2, SDE, SIL)
Worked closely with the Business Analyst, Database and Data warehouse
Architects in determining the exact business rules and functionalities
required for the delivery of the work articles.

PROJECT PROFILE
Project#1:
Title: Transactional Processing Data marts
Client: Capital One
Role: Informatica Developer
Team Size: 10
Description:
This project has been developing for Capital One Financial Services.
Capital one financial having lakhs of customers in different business like
life insurance, annuity, banking, financial and manufacturing areas.
Capital one financial setup the centers in USA, UK and CANADA to support
their customers. Due to day to day business transactional processing
thousands of applications are filling and thousands of cheques and DD's
transaction is happening. This data is moved to the Database. This
processing is Transactional Processing. We are designing the data ware
house and we are moving this business transactional data to data warehouse.
Responsibilities:
Extensively involved in Data Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL
process) from Source to target systems using Informatica.
Performed data cleansing and transformation using Informatica.
Worked extensively with Designer tools like Source Analyzer, Target
Designer, Transformation Developer, Mapping and Mapplet Designers.
Created data mappings to extract data from different source files,
transform the data using Filter, Update Strategy, Aggregator, Expression,
Joiner Transformations and then loaded into data warehouse.
Implemented Slowly Changing dimension type2 methodology for accessing the
full history of accounts and transaction information.
Used Update Strategy Transformation to update the Target Dimension tables,
type2 updates where we insert the new record and update the old record in
the target so we can track the changes in the future.
Developed various mapplets that were then included into the mappings.
Used Workflow Manager to read data from sources, and write data to target
databases and manage sessions. Review the mapping.
Environments:
Informatica Power Center 8.1/9 (Designer, Workflow Manager, Monitor,
Repository Manager), Oracle, Windows 2003 Server, Unix.
Project#2:
Client: TORO, Minneapolis, MN
Role: Informatica Developer
Team Size: 10
Description:
The Toro Company is committed in helping customers beautify and preserve
the outdoor environments by making landscapes green, healthy and safe. They
produce superior, innovative, environmentally sound products, services and
systems. The primary objective of the project is to build one common
warehouse where all the confirmed dimensions, fact tables and dimensions
related to each fact tables are stored.
There are many subject areas in TORO like sales order, Inventory and we
worked in Financial Subject area. ORACLE, XML and Flat files are the source
systems from which the data has been pulled into Staging and then from
staging the required cleansing of data is done and some calculations are
performed and stored in respective dimensions and fact tables in the
warehouse.
Responsibilities:
Worked on Informatica Power Center tool - Source Analyzer,Target designer,
Mapping & Mapplet Designer and Transformation Designer.
Extracted data from ORACLE source system to Staging Area and loaded the
data to the target database by ETL process using Informatica Power Center.
Designed and developed complex Informatica mappings using transformations
like Router, Lookup (connected and Unconnected) and Update strategy
transformation for various data loads.
Designed and developed various Pl/SQL stored procedures to perform various
calculations related to fact measures.
Converted the PL/SQL Procedures to Informatica mappings and at the same
time created procedures in the database level for optimum performance of
the mappings.
Tuning Informatica Mappings and Sessions for better performance.
Created Sessions, Workflows, Post Session email task and also performed
various workflow monitoring and scheduling tasks.
Maintained warehouse metadata, naming standards and warehouse standards for
future application development.
Environments:
Informatica Power Center 8, Oracle 10g, Windows 2003 Server, Unix.
Project#3:
Title: Kenna Food Supplying
Client: Kenna Products Company Project
Role: Informatica Developer
Team Size: 10
Description:
This is Bangalore based food supplier receives transactional information
from the Shopping marts located at several parts of India. All this
information is moved in to 3 data marts through Informatica Power Center
into an Oracle database. The client makes use of the OLAP technology to
maintain information at the warehouse level. Reports are taken out of the
three data marts using Oracle. The information out of these reports are
taken to analyze the business as well as the employees(HR) information. The
company is planning to expand itself by placing several new branches all
over the country. It expects to make use of the information to analyze and
expand the business.
Responsibilities:
Worked on Informatica Designer Tool's components - Source Analyzer,
Warehouse Designer, Transformation Developer, Mapping Designer and Mapplet
Designer.
Involved in the development of Informatica mappings and also tuned for
better performance. In the Mappings, most of the Transformations were used
like the Source Qualifier, Expression, Filter, Aggregator, Look Up, Update,
and joiner, Sequence Generator, Sorter, Rank and Router.
Used Unconnected Look-Ups with the combination of Update Strategy to
implement Type2 Warehouse.
Lookup tables were implemented at the staging level for the faster response
time of Lookups.
Extensively used Informatica's Workflow Manager & Workflow Monitor tools to
Load data from Oracle OLTP sources into the Target Oracle Data Ware House.
Applied event wait and event raise objects along with the email objects
from error notification information.
