Work Experience:
U.S. Marine Corps May 2006 - Present
Position: General Fabrication, Manual Machinist, CNC Machinist/Programmer, Welder and Floor Chief
•Utilized technical drawings, sketches, reverse engineering or verbal instruction to repair or remanufacture critical parts for all types of military gear that could not be procured through normal supply channels, saving the Marine Corps millions of dollars and thousands of hours in the maintenance cycle time.
•Designed and fabricated multiple complex "fixtures" to expedite the machining of complicated parts.
•Identified and reduced constraints to increase workflow, efficiency and cost savings.
•Researched and ordered an OMAX Waterjet to more than quadruple the productivity of the work center.
•Collaborated with Bell-Boeing engineers to redesign or modify parts and tooling specifically for the MV-22 Osprey.
•Designed and manufactured specialized tooling to increase productivity and reduce maintenance down time in addition to cost savings because the parts needing repair would no longer be required to be shipped off station.
•Managed and directly supervised over 30 Marines, maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency and reduced down time.
•Maintained 100% accountability of over 120 Marines and all equipment assigned to every shop.
