The Referral unit had 36 beds, ICU and 4theaters, 24 hrs emergencies and 500 elective cases a year.
During 6 months I received and handled emergencies independently, performed chest intubations
prepared patients for
OT and looked after post op patients both in the ICU and the ward. I did 46 chest intubations for
empyema,
hemothorax, pneumothorax, tension pneumothorax, apical intubation/apical drain in 2nd
intercostals space left side. I also attended cardiac surgeries, open Heart surgeries; close mitral
valvotomy, open valvotomies, Aortic Mitral Valve, Tricuspid Valve replacement and thoracic
surgeries; Lobectomies, pleurectomies, pneumonectomies, thyroidectomies, esophagectomies.

1).Throughout our 6yrs of medical school programme,1996-2003,I also attended Community
Health Science
Medical Curriculum, that Participate in the development of community based field programs to
address problems through primary health care and disease control methods, included field site
studies in Urban and Rural areas of Peshawar, Pakistan. It included the study and application of a
wide range of social sciences, concepts of health economics, human behavior, socio-anthropology
and social determinants of health and disease, epidemiology, demography and bio statistics. for
5yrs I conducted field work planning and management of primary health care systems under the
guidance and supervision of trained staff. Through such visits and surveys students are able to
come in direct contact with people of these under privileged areas and are able to study in depth the
structure and dynamics of communities, their socio-cultural and economic strains and their impact
