a. Coordinating all the activities at the zonal centre e.g
administrative (Accounts, personnel), laboratory and nursing
services.
b. Advocacy visits to the governors, Traditional leaders, Religious
leaders, Chief Medical Directors and Medical Directors of tertiary,
secondary and primary health centers, Head of Civil Society
Organizations, Vice-chancellors, Rectors and Principals of
tertiary, polytechnic and secondary schools, Commissioners for
Health and Directors in the Ministry of Health in all the six
states of south-west zone of Nigeria.
c. Collection of blood from voluntary non-remunerated blood donors at
the center, processing and distribution of safe blood and blood
products from the centers to all health institutions in the region.
2. Head of Phlebotomy Unit of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital,

DUTIES:
a. Coordinating the activities of the medical, technical and clerical
staff of the unit.
b. The unit is involved in collecting blood samples for all out-
patients of the hospital for various investigations. The unit is
also responsible for retrieving the results of these
investigations from various laboratories.
