“MODIFICATION OF HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT FOR TILTING ROLLER

MECHANISM”

In the process of normal rolling, the front end & the tail end of the bloom/bar (6000mm) is cut by the 800KN

shear to a length of approximately 100mm to 200mm, and these pieces falls into the collecting bucket placed

in the pit. If bar is failure or any problem in down fall of rolling process then continuous chopping is done.

The three(3) rollers present next to shearing machine has to be tilted down(hydraulically) so as to provide

larger space for pieces to fall directly in to the bucket.

BEFORE MODIFICATION:

During continuous chopping of the bar, rollers does not tilt when there is sudden failure

in hydraulic system.

AFTER MODIFICATION:

In modified system, an ACCUMULATOR (BLADDER type) and A CHECK

VALVE is added to hydraulic system. A uni directional check valve is used to start, stop and direction of

flow of a pressure fluid is controlled. An Accumulator provides instant pressure energy to tilt rollers (3).

Hence the rollers are tilted during emergency requirement properly without failure.
