Experience
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Second and third shift MLT generalist, at Iowa Health Des Moines. Worked full time in these laboratory departments
UA, Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, and Microbiology set up and gram stain reading. This position also included
some Phlebotomy and a great deal of phone and face to face contact with personnel in other departments of the
hospital.
Most recent instrumentation used:
Chemistry analyzers include Beckman Coulter DX600,LX 20 PRO, CX 5 PRO, Advia Centaur, Centaur CP, Omni System
AVL, Hitachi 917 and 902, Abbott Axsym and TDX.
Hematology analyzers include Sysmex XT 200i, NE1500, Coulter systems and Stage Compact. UA analyzer Bayer
Clinitek.
Other techniques used in the laboratory include sample preparation, balance weighting, pipetting, titration,
mathematics, procedure development and writing, follow the SOP, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
