Objective

Earn a position within the OEM or supplier automotive community

utilizing proven experience in stamping tool construction,

stamping/welding parts making and program management.

Summary

Over twenty-five years of automotive stamping and injection molding

experience in two major Japanese transplant facilities, including

project lead over two full model change stamping tooling projects. My

experience with Honda has taught me a great deal about the supplier

development, crisis management, and cost-effect improvements in

purchasing.

Work History

Parts Quality Engineer, New Model PQ, Body/Chassis, HMA, 4/2009 until

present. The PQ group are tasked with supporting/managing the

suppliers' parts maturation up until Mass Production, where the parts

then become the responsibility of the Mass Production quality group.

As we now have four vehicles at HMA, and the various launches/model

changes are staggered, we always have an event to support.

Technical Specialist, New Model Purchasing Department, Honda

Manufacturing of Alabama

7/2001 to 4/2009. (An OEM manufacturer of light trucks.)

. Assisted suppliers by reviewing/conducting root cause analysis of

unplanned downtime and developing short-term and long-term

countermeasures

. Assisted suppliers by reviewing and proposing improvements in

preventive maintenance, spare parts lists and ordering, and predictive

failure analysis.

. Conducted OEE capacity analysis of supplier processes

. Submitted cycle time improvement proposals with MOST analysis to

suppliers that were implemented with positive results

. Supported Parts Quality Department by focusing on the supplier process

during root cause analysis and countermeasure development of supplier

quality issues

. Assess supplier tooling and equipment modification costs for design

changes by "going to the spot" to clearly understand the modifications

that had taken place.

. Conducted crisis management activities such as monitoring of

production, review of production scheduling, and developing of

potential problem analyses for suppliers with critical delivery

concerns

. Actively participated in the New Model Review process by focusing on

supplier Specified Action Plans, tooling and equipment Gantt charts,

manpower and training plans, and capacity analysis.

. Tracked Tooling and Equipment transfers that occurred between

different supplier locations during mass production by insuring that a

clear and reasonable plan for each transfer existed and conducted

follow-up activities to ensure that the goals of the supplier and

expectations of HMA were met.

8/2000 to 1/2001 (A Tier 1 Supplier of Automotive Stampings and

Assemblies)

. Engineer and project leader responsible for launching the Saturn VUE

SUV hood and lift-gate stampings.

. Engineer responsible for maintaining and improving the outer body

(Class A surface) stampings for the Mercedes-Benz M-Class and Saturn

VUE SUVs' body closures.

. Stamping Project Leader on Nissan Xterra. Responsible for U.S.

support of die development from concept to launch, including

numerous trips to Japan to die manufacturers, and stamping trials

conducted at Nissan facilities and tool contractors' plants.

. Stamping Project Leader on IV (original Altima) after launch, and

associate support on QW (Frontier truck.)
