OVERVIEW

Certified Microsoft Professional (MCP) and certified Microsoft DBA (MCDBA) with several years of

IT experience in the corporate America including over 18 years in FORTUNE 500 corporations. Very

strong experience in both main frame and Windows based Database Administration, Project planning

and implementations, and as a project leader of both on site and off-shore project teams. Over 10 years

of experience working in the Database design and Analysis group as a project leader. Experienced in all

phases of production and application support areas of SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005, including

production, development, and QA server administration, Developer support with TSQL tuning,

application performance tuning, server migration, cluster server, replications and ETL tools such as DTS

and SSIS packages.

Until February 28,2013 worked full time remotely from home as a consultant SQL Server DBA for a

company located in Fairfield New Jersey. Contract (since October 2011) was ended on March 1, 2013, As

a only DBA for this small but 24 X 7 financial processing company, responsible for maintaining two data

centers hosting several tests, QA and production servers and databases with over 1 TB data.

At present looking for a permanent or a consulting SQL Server DBA position near Melbourne Florida or

within a reasonable driving distance from home.

WORK SUMMARY

Complete database management of production, test, and QA servers by performing server level

performance, tuning, and improving production work load.

Performed important tables Index fragmentation analysis and fixed issues related to the

fragmentation.

Performed both side-by-side and in-place migrations of SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005

production servers.

Installed clustered SQL Server 2005 in an Active/Passive mode to replace SQL Server 2000

server performance monitoring and server disk space monitoring, production implementations, query

profiling and carrying out other general DBA functions for both 2000 and 2005 servers..

replication related errors.

total server and application level support to the company responsible for below duties.

(9/2008 – 10/2011)

Worked as a Sr. SQL Server DBA managing two data centers located in New Jersey and Cleveland.

Responsible for maintaining Production, QA, and test environments of the corporation, including

transactional and snapshot replications, disaster recovery plans, backups, complete support to the dot net

developers in-house and off-shore, performance monitoring and tuning, and migration to SQL Server 2005

projects. Heavily involved in writing several performance related stored procedures. SSIS Packages for

extracting data from backend Alpha system. Most of these DTS packages use third party software

CONNX to download data from a backend flat file processing system. Have completed project to installed

SQL Server 2005 in clustered environment and replace one of the most important but aging production

SQL Server 2000. Created and deployed several SSIS packages during migration of SQL Server 2000

databases. Saved IPP over $65K, proposed by outsourcing company in India, by completing in-house

migration of all servers, residing at three different data centers, from version 2000 to 2005. Also, IPP has

been saving over $48K per year, in consulting DBA fees, by discontinuing services of an outsourcing

company.

At present still working for the same employer as a consultant based in Florida after resigning from the

employment due to move to Melbourne, Florida.

Worked as an Application Support DBA consultant in this fast growing and dynamic environment. This

newly acquired company has over 350 high profiled customers using 300 databases amounting to over 1

TB of data. Responsibilities included maintaining total development and QA environments including

weekly restores of all databases, supporting teams of developers situated in-house and in India,

performance tuning applications, reviewing ad hoc SQL scripts and Stored Procedures.

Worked as Sr. consultant at one of the Satyam’s client located in northern New Jersey. Main

responsibilities included providing production and development support. IPP has production, QA, and the

development servers containing several small and large size databases including BizTalk databases. Some

of the work being done on a regular basis included writing DTS Packages, creating maintenance plan,

maintaining Transactional and Merge replications, backups, restores, query tuning, production data purge

and archive, application support such as table creation, file group management, writing stored procedures,

and Index tuning. Headed and completed migration project to move SQL Servers from IPP data center to

Cleveland.

As a Database Administrator, was responsible for performance tuning related issues such as identifying

and troubleshooting long running stored procedures and queries. Also responsible for maintaining

production databases in optimum conditions by performing REINDEXING and updating stats on timely

manner, trouble shooting failed jobs, and fixing replication errors. Prepared and published a Performance

Tuning and coding standards document. Also, redesign and published easy to use database change request

This was a SQL Server DBA consulting assignment at this Fortune 500 Company, located in Philadelphia.

Responsibilities included modification and writing several complex Sales Reporting Stored Procedures for

the management group of the technology team. The Stored Procedures generated report feed files for

analysis and strategy planning purposes. Responsibilities also included writing DTS packages, scheduling

and monitoring jobs, query tuning and performance analysis.

York, was responsible for working on several high profile projects with the developers such as production

server installations and initialization, analyzing and designing databases and tables for new projects.

and COBOL programmer and was promoted to System Analyst position. Design and implemented

companies to realign their sales force based on doctors concentration and rating.
