Contact information :

Email : ******************@*****.***

Tel. : Home +45 86262971 / Office +45 25605451

Home address : Skibbyvej 31, 8220 Brabrand, Denmark.

IBM mainframe background :

Systems Programmer in Storage Management mainframe since 1989 in a large

danish bank (Danske Bank) and from 1997 in DMdata (big outsourcing company

in the Nordic area). Employed in IBM since august 2004 through a buy up of

DMdata by IBM.

Experience :

My primary experience has primarily been in Storage Management with main

achievements in storage automation, customer migration projects,

infrastructure projects and disaster recovery (GDPS implementation) on a

large bank account in Denmark. I have participated in a number of

reference visit presentations on this customer, especially around GDPS, as

this customer is regarded as a best practice installation in many ways.

The most challenging exercise on this customer was the preparation for

GDPS, doing a 'data split', splitting the customers environment into three

independent GDPS-environments. However, this has also given me valuable

experience, I have used later on in my career.

I personally have had a special focus on standardization of outsourcing

customer platforms with various flavors, trying to make them more

homogeneous as to hardware and software setup and thereby do large-scale

operation with the fewest possible resources. This has especially been

around automation, standardization of software and procedures

(documentation) but also in sharing of hardware between customers.

We have been quite successful combining DFSMS features with automation,

mainly based on IBM products, but also based on a few pieces of homegrown

code (REXX).

Currently I am working on standardization project across the Nordic area

with the same ambition. From time to time I do education on storage

related issues and is involved in customer migration projects. These can

be quite complicated and costly, raising a need for building the best

safest and smoothest possible solution still with focus on the cost.

Recently we have started building a new hardware platform in Sweden based

on the most recent IBM hardware.

As to best practices I have experience analyzing existing environments.

These assessments has included naming conventions, tools, use of features

& guidance on efficient usage of storage components.

I think my biggest advantage is, that I have worked with the storage

challenges in real life and not only on a theoretical basis.

During my time as a team leader, Audit sessions has also played an

important part, as compliance do almost at a daily basis, as software and

hardware issues may come up and end up in Cirats.

The last few years I also have been on assignments abroad. One assignment

was for 1,5 years in India educating and mentoring storage resources for

COE(Center Of Excellence education). Quite a successful project bringing

these resources from (less than) level2 to level4 skills wise.

Additionally I have participated in 4 IBM DFSMS residences in California -

latest in DFSMShsm Primer august-september 2012.

I am currently also a member of the GDPS User group meeting once a year in

Montpellier, France and also participate in monthly conference calls as

part of this group reviewing features and suggestions coming up from the

GDPS development team through comments and voting. I have also done

several presentations in Montpellier in this forum.

Hardware experience :

& HDS dasd (9900) plus IBM tape hardware (3494/TS3500 & VTS-B20 and

TS7700) plus STK(SUN/Oracle) tape silos. Experience also includes 3995

optical libraries.

Part of this has also been design of environments and execution of the

ordering process (Capex/PRD).

Specialities

Standardisation and automation plus GDPS. Also quite good skills and

experience in ICF catalogs and allocation challenges.

Soft skills : Regard myself as a strong team player. I see teams as a

unique way of creating the most robust solutions. At the same time I find

it important to give room for my colleagues to give their input and have

their challenges. I am business oriented and always try to adhere to IBM

policy and values.

Language

I speak English (fluently).

IBM skill level

Band 9.

Personal ambition seeking new opportunities

My ambition is to always contribute with may background and experience in

Mainframe Storage - but also always to obtain new experience and make a

difference in refresh and infrastructure projects. Working in an

international team in a foreign country would suddenly be an opportunity I

would like to take, if offered, as this has certainly been a great

inspiration for me previously in my career.

The challenge in a potential new job would have to be there, as my current

job is also very exciting and challenging.
