As Quality Manager, I lead eleven three direct reports in improving and managing our ISO 9001:2008 quality assurance
program ensuring purchased material and manufactured products conform with specified standards at three facilities in the
Cleveland area. I am the Quality Management Representative. My responsibilities include:
• Develop, implement and manage supplier qualification processes. This includes supplier statistically based
metrics to monitor and maintain supplier control. The goal is to retain a high quality supply chain at a
competitive cost. I personally have conducted supplier audits in the Americas and China.
• Interface with suppliers, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality
issues utilizing outside labs to perform analytical testing for metallurgy, tribology, and chemical issues.
• As the Lean Master Six Sigma Black Belt for continuous improvement, I mentor four Black Belts and two Green
Belts in DMAIC projects and Kaizen events to reduce setup for machining and reduce waste.
Quality Engineer 3/04-9/08
Magna Automotive, Strongsville, Ohio
Multi-national Tier-One automotive supplier of interior systems. Products include rear bench seating, captain seats and
pedestal assemblies for production and custom RV assemblies. This facility is JIT to Ford Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon,
Ohio. In this position, I was hired to implement TS 16949, ISO 14001 and to obtain Ford Q1 certification. I was successful
in three months. When the Escape platform was moved to Kansas City, I was retained a launch engineer for the Econoline
platform. I engaged design engineers, trim and styling, Ford program management as liaison for the complete seat assembly
plant in Strongsville from prototype development through launch. Providing a point of contact for the customer, I addressed
prototype assembly issues, supplier nonconformance, and engineering constraints for JIT assembly. Leading product
development I also trained materials, plant engineering, and floor supervision in developing operator instructions for
assembly.
Specifically I was responsible for:
• "Plant launch troubleshooter" identifying and correcting system breakdowns.
• Drive out technical impediments in product launches; including product, tool, equipment and packaging design, work
cell layout, material flow, documentation readiness, work cell ergonomics, line safety, and support group readiness.
• Implemented lean manufacturing strategies into work cells at launch.
• Leading product engineering for cost saving; developing constraint sensitive replenishment system.
• Leading APQP for product change tracking customer approval, manufacturing issues and purchasing quotes for viability
• Leading data driven decision making for continuous improvement using Six Sigma/Lean techniques
