PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Design Engineer; 3M Thermal and Acoustics Solutions for aircraft (Indianapolis, IN)
2012- Present
Duties include a variety of engineering work to design complete sets of aircraft solutions for NVH control and
thermal insulation while minimizing added weight: Create 2D and 3D models and part prints, evaluate
interchangeability of materials, solve communications problems with manufacturing plant in Mexico and develop
solutions for other tasks as assigned.
Mechanical Engineer; Heartland Sweeteners (Indianapolis, IN)
2011- 2012
Designed and manufactured a machine for bottle cap assembly. Final design was highly automated and of high speed
(200 bottles/min). Designed next generation bottle, production molds/tooling and established bottle source of supply.
Coordinated multiple internal and external supply chain activities, meeting the required timeline to commercialize
this new product. As interim solution I designed a manual cap assembly machine to supply initial product orders with
new bottle design.
CAD and Technical Drawing Teacher; Ivy Tech Community College (Indianapolis, IN)
2010-Present
Duties include teaching students CAD/CAM design to translate engineer’s and designer’s ideas into graphic forms.
Assist students to understand the expectations and demands of the engineering profession. Prepared more than 100
students per year with high drafting level skills and obtained high evaluation scores from students/department
committee.
French and Spanish Language Teacher; University of Indianapolis, IN
2010-2011
Duties involved teaching of French and Spanish for students pursuing bachelor’s degrees. Prepared more than 50
students with high level of language skills and obtained high evaluation scores from students/department committee.
Language Teacher; LaGuardia Community College of New York (Long Island City-New York)
2009-2010
Duties involved teaching French for students pursuing bachelor’s degrees. Prepared more than 150 students with high
level language skills and obtained high scores during the students/department evaluations.
Research Engineer (Part of PhD program); Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts et Métiers, Mechanical
Engineering Department, Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Research Group, (Chalons en
Champagne - France) 2006-2008
Duties included research and development on magnetically assisted machining technology: literature research,
experimental set up design, strength and hardness tests of work pieces, simulation, scanning electron microscope
(SEM) observations, CNC machining (milling/turning/drilling), and magnetic field characterization and its effect on
machining process. Compiled analysis results and findings and presented to the multinational project team
(Laboratory of Electrical Engineering and Electronics Lille -France and University of Wisconsin-Platteville USA).
Design Engineer Internship (Part of Master’s program); ABCD INTERNATIONAL (Paris-France)
2006
Duties included design of a high end residential door ($7.000- $12000 USD/door) with aluminum frame and
development of its manufacturing process. Door is currently available in the European market. Responsible for
market research, door design, production, and market introduction. Identification of external material suppliers to
support customer requirements, cost analysis and/or project economics. Resolved manufacturing operations issues
related to material suppliers, product quality and international marketing. Frequent project development status
presentations to investors and clients.
Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer; MARCOPOLO S.A. (Bogotá-Colombia)
2002-2004
Designed, planned, and oversaw assembly of bus bodies onto chassis for different brands and types of buses. This
included analyzing and becoming familiar with the chassis structure, brakes, electrical system, driveline and power
train. Researched, developed, and studied bus aerodynamics using FEA tools and wind tunnel analysis. Designed a
new structural body for the bus model “LISTO” (17 passengers) which had 4,000 units sold in the first year.
Documentation of manufacturing process for bus assembly operations as required by ISO 9001. Improved
manufacturing operations reducing cycle time by 7% as well as decreasing material waste and accidents.
Sales Manager; ALIATUBOS (Bogota-Colombia)
1998-2002
Duties entailed weekly and monthly written reports on sales analysis and sales collection for this well established
PVC pipes, Sika, faucets, electrical and water tanks distribution company. Coordinated multiple internal and external
customer and supply chain activities, executed product cost analysis and customer quotations. Supervised and set
priorities and day-to-day activities for 13 sales team members. I developed a complete warehouse layout redesign,
improving cleanliness and safety thus improving health and wellness of employees.
Automotive Mechanic, Class III, Autonal (largest Ford, Renault and Fiat dealership; Bogota-Colombia)
1996,98-month Internship
Duties included initial vehicle evaluation with customers and various automotive repairs (engine repairs, tune ups,
brakes, tire changes, transmission replacement and electrical testing.)
