Objective: To champion a position in healthcare informatics that fully
utilizes my solid clinical and technical skillsets to improve the
quality and safety of care delivery through healthcare information
technologies.
Technical Work:
5/12 - Present Caradigm Telecommuter
Experience Senior Clinical Informaticist - Engineering Organization
Caradigm workstream lead and liaison to Geisinger Health Plan
(GHP) on the requirements gathering and design for the CareManager
logical data model and terminology.
Analyzed the HL7v2 mapping of the Amalga 3.0 Common Entities.
Extended the Amalga 3.1 Common Entities with new entities and
attributes required to support integration with the CareManager
application currently in development in cases where standards like
HL7v2 support did not exist.
Analyzed customer provided clinical and claims feeds for the
validating the required Amalga 3.0 and 3.1 common entities. Feeds
were both standards based (e.g.: HL7v2, IHE XDS messages with
HL7v3 CDA documents) and custom feeds for claims and
authorizations derived from GHP's enterprise data warehouse
(EDW).
Provided education and guidance on data modeling, terminology, and
reference standards to the engineering program manager and
developer teams.
8/11 - 5/12 GE Healthcare Telecommuter
Senior Clinical Informaticist - eHealth Organization
Created the initial methodology for identifying GHP's care
coordination workflows and translating the specifications for
implementation using Java Business Process Manager (JBPM) and the
Drools rules engine where decision support was required.
Created a data dictionary of requirements for the GHP Accountable
Care Organization (ACO) joint-developed product with Caradigm and
proposed the initial conceptual model for the Population Health
Management System (PHMS) application intended to support this
solution. The data model included both clinical and financial
domains (e.g.: claims, authorizations)

Telecommuter
eHealth Solutions Architect - eHealth Organization
Collaborated with Healthcare IT innovators (CIOs, CMIOs, MD's) to
architect interoperability solutions which connect healthcare
provider's internal systems and communities using GE's Healthcare
Information Exchange (HIE) and eHealth solutions.
Assisted in systems-architecting the HIE/eHealth integration for
the following GE HIE customers: Keystone HIE (KeyHIE), Inova
Health Systems, Wake Forest University Medical Center (WFUBMC),
Central Florida Regional Health Information Exchange (CFRHIO), and
Harrison Medical Center (HMC).
Provided pre-sales support to eHealth sales executives responding
to HIE Request for Proposals (RFPs) and giving demos and
presentations highlighting our solutions and product offerings for
new business opportunities.
Supported multiple Healthcare IT vendors working with GE to
prototype HIE interoperability scenarios in the exchange of
clinical structured documents. Vendors included: Kryptiq,
Allscripts, Eclipsys, and PICIS
09/08 - 10/09 GE Healthcare Allendale, NJ/
Telecommuter
Solutions Architect - Global Engineering

upstream marketing requirements for ePrescribing, secure
messaging, and security policies in the development of GE
Healthcare's eHealth health information exchange (HIE) solution.
Worked with Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (WFUBMC)
to determine clinical workflows and usability requirements for
enabling the exchange of allergy data between inpatient and
outpatient clinical information systems.
Gathered requirements and generated clinical use cases for one of
GE's Centricity Device Interface (CDI) component which enabled the
flow of medical device data into nursing flow sheets. Created a
competitor matrix of medical device integration vendors as a
reference for analyzing the medical device market space and
identifying CDI product gaps.
02/03 - 09/08 Cisco Systems Iselin, NJ/ Telecommuter
Networking Engineer - Enterprise Solutions Engineering
Provided systems design recommendations for projects which
included improving the transmission of Picture Archiving and
Communications Systems (PACS) medical images to remote branch
locations using wide-area application services (WAAS). Assisted
in the creation of security marketing content and HIPAA security
compliance solutions for the healthcare provider. Supported the
Mobile Care 2.0 solution, which included integration of Cisco's
wireless voice over IP (VoIP) solution with nurse call and patient
monitoring systems.
Created an initial technical architecture proposal for an on-site
ambulatory care clinic within Cisco's San Jose headquarters
campus.
Provided advisory support to Cisco alliance partners in creating
RFP responses for the National Health Information Network (NHIN).
Proposed how Cisco's Application-Oriented Networking (AON)
solution can be used to integrate multiple clinical applications
and clinical data exchange standards such as HL7 and DICOM for
improved clinical workflows.
